Tells Us
About
God,
Part 1
(Just

Evangeli

John
2:1-11:
1 And
the third
day
there
was a
marriag
e in
Cana of
Galilee;
and the
mother
of Jesus
was
there:
2 And
both
Jesus
was
called,
and his
disciple
s, to the
marriag
e.
3 And
when
they
wanted
wine,
the
mother
of Jesus
saith
unto
him,
They
have no
wine.
4 Jesus
saith
unto
her,
Woman,
what
have I to
do with
thee?
mine
hour is
not yet
come.
5 His
mother
saith
unto the
servants
,
Whatso
ever he
saith
unto
you, do
it.
6 And
there
were set
there six
waterpo
ts of
stone,
after the
manner
of the
purifyin
g of the
Jews,
containi
ng two
or three
firkins
apiece.
7 Jesus
saith
unto
them,
Fill the
waterpo
ts with
water.
And
they
filled
them up
to the
brim.
8 And
he saith
unto
them,
Draw
out now,
and
bear
unto the
governo
r of the
feast.
And
they
bare it.
9 When
the ruler
of the
feast
had
tasted
the
water
that was
made
wine,
and
knew
not
whence
it was:
(but the
servants
which
drew the
water
knew;)
the
governo
r of the
feast
called
the
bridegro
om,
10 And
saith
unto
him,
Every
man at
the
beginni
ng doth
set forth
good
wine;
and
when
men
have
well
drunk,
then
that
which is
worse:
but thou
hast
kept the
good
wine
until
now.
11 This
beginni
ng of
miracles
did
Jesus in
Cana of
Galilee,
and
manifest
ed forth
his
glory;
and his
disciple
s
believed
on him.

This

inspired
by the

1
Corinthi

which
says,
"For I

And 2

This
series is
not for
Christia

necessa

However
, I do
hope
you are
one of
those
saints
who still
loves to
hear the
Old, old
story of
Jesus
and His
love -As the
hymn
says,
For
those
who
know it

Seem

This
series is
primarily
for
unbeliev
ers, so
they can
hear and
understa
nd the
Gospel
and be
saved
from sin
and the
punishm
ent of
sin
which is
hell.
This is

John
Calvin
said,
"Christ,
declarin
g openly
in an
assembl
y by a
notable
miracle
that he
has
power
over the
nature
of things
to feed
man's
body,
leads
the
minds of
all men
to
consider
his
spiritual
and
saving
strength
and
power."
Christen
a
Clevelan
d said,
"Rather
than
using
his
power to
distance
himself
from us,
Jesus
uses it
to
approac
h us. He
follows
his own
comman
dment to
love
your
neighbo
r as
yourself
often
to his
detrimen
t, I might
addby
pursuin
g us
with
great
tenacity
in spite
of our
differenc
es. He
jumps a
lot of
hurdles
to reach
us."
Jesus'
first
recorde
d
miracle
is
perhaps
a mostsurprisi
ng one.
We
would
think,
surely,
that the
Son of
God
would
make
the first
public
demonst
ration of
His
power
on a
much
larger,
more
visible
stage.
And
certainly
, He
would
do
somethi
ng more
audacio
us than
quietly
transfor
ming
jars full
of water
into
wine.
But this
entire
scenario
tells us
some
very
interesti
ng and
very
importa
nt things
about
Jesus
Christ,
His
mission
on earth,
how He
chose to
carry it
out, and
the
people
who
witnesse
d Him
carrying
out His
mission.
By the
way,
many
Christia
ns have
been in
shock
down
through
the
centurie
s that
the first
miracle
that
their
blessed
Saviour
Jesus
Christ
did was
make
wine.
Some
still
have not
gotten
over it.
And yes
this was
fermente
d real
wine, for
they
could
have
made
grape
juice in
the back
yard.
Fine
wine
takes
time and
therein
lies the
miracle.
I believe
that
Jesus
did this
on
purpose
to rattle
all of the
proud
Pharisee
ical
religious
stuffshir
ts down
through
the ages
and to
let
people
know
that yes
He is all
about
people
trusting
Him,
obeying
Him, and
living a
holy life,
but He is
also
very
much
about
the party
and
having a
good
time. So
let me
say
once
and for
all to all
unbeliev
ers and
sinners
who
have
been
afraid to
get
saved
because
you
didnt
want to
give up
your
wine
which
you
drink in
moderati
on with
your
meal or
on
special
occasio
ns like a
wedding
, you
can get
saved
today
and still
drink
your
wine in
moderati
on for
the glory
of God.
Dont let
that
keep
you
from
being
saved
from sin
and hell
and
enjoying
an
abundan
t life in
heaven
as well.
Believe
on the
Lord
Jesus
Christ
and thou
shalt be
saved.
Now
with that
said I
want
you to
notice
with me
that
Jesus is
intereste
d in
every
aspect
of our
lives.
Our
passage
reads,
"And the
third day
there
was a
marriage
in Cana
of
Galilee;
and the
mother
of Jesus
was
there:
And
both
Jesus
was
called,
and his
disciple
s, to the
marriage
." Now,
wedding
s for the
Jews
were
different
affairs
than
what we
call a
wedding
today. A
wedding
in the
Bible
was a
seven
day-long
celebrati
on with
feasting,
dancing,
drinking
wine,
giftgiving,
and
well-
wishing.
Surely,
Jesus
had
more
importa
nt things
to do
than to
spend
seven
days at
a
wedding
party.
Yet, this
is
exactly
where
we find
Jesus.
This
tells us
that
Jesus is
very
much
intereste
d in
every
aspect
of our
seem
nonspiritual.
It is not
so much
that God
is
intereste
d in a
wedding
, but He
is
intereste
d in the
two
people
whom
He has
created
who
have
now
decided
to
pledge
themsel
ves to
each
other till
death do
them
part.
The NFL
Playoffs
are
going on
now.
And in
football,
many
players,
when
they
score a
touchdo
wn or
when
their
team
wins a
game,
give
thanks
and
glory to
God.
Every
now and
then, the
question
comes
up,
"Does
God
care
about
football?
Does
God
care
which
teams
win or
lose?"
Green
Bay
Packers
Quarterb
ack
Aaron
Rodgers
was
asked
this
question
on a
radio
show
sometim
e ago. I
think he
gave the
right
answer
when he
said that
God
does not
care
about
football,
but He
cares
about
the
people
playing
the
game.
It is the
same
with
every
aspect
of our
lives.
God
cares
about
His
creation,
in
whateve
r stage
we are
at in life,
and that
is what
we see
in Jesus
making
it His
busines
s to be
at this
wedding
party.
This
care for
His
creation
is also
shown
in Jesus'
willingn
ess to
use His
power to
turn
water
into
wine. It
also
shows
us that
God is a
God of
joy and
He loves
to see
his
children
enjoying
the life
He has
given
them.
You see,
running
out of
wine
was a
big nono at a
week-
long
wedding
party. If
that had
happene
d, the
young
couple
who had
just
gotten
married
would
have
been
extremel
y
embarra
ssed.
They
would
have
been the
butt of
jokes. It
would
have
been on
the front
page of
the
tabloids
and at
the top
of the
gossip
columns
. The
husband
and wife
would
have
never
been
able to
live
down
the fact
that they
had run
out of
wine at
their
wedding
party.
But,
thankfull
y, Jesus
is there,
and He
transfor
ms the
water
into
wine -not just
mediocr
e wine,
but as
we see
in our
passage
, the
best
wine.
Jesus
saves
the
wedding
party
from
certain
disaster.
Some
say that
God's
rules
stop
people
from
having
fun. But
the truth
is,
unless
we abide
within
the
bounds
God has
set for
us, we
will
never
have
true fun.
Dear
friend,
God is
not your
enemy.
He made
you, He
loves
you, and
He is
concern
ed about
every
part of
your life.
However
, He also
knows
that
apart
from
Himself,
you will
never be
complet
ely
happy,
satisfied
, or
fulfilled.
That is
why He
sent
Jesus
Christ to
this
know
Him
through
acceptin
g Jesus
Christ
as your
Savior
from sin
and
sins
consequ
ences.
Are you
willing
to trust
Jesus
Christ
as your
Savior
today? If
so, here
is how.
First,
accept
the fact
that you
are a
sinner,
and that
you
have
broken
Gods
law. The
Bible
says in
Romans
3:23:
"For all
have
sinned
and
come
short of
the glory
of God.
Second,
accept
the fact
that
there is
a
penalty
for sin.
The
Bible
states in
Romans
6:23:
"For the
wages
of sin is
death
Third,
accept
the fact
that you
are on
the road
to hell.
Jesus
Christ
said in
Matthew
10:28:
"And
fear not
them
which
kill the
body,
but are
not able
to kill
the soul:
but
rather
fear him
which is
able to
destroy
both
soul and
body in
hell."
Also, the
Bible
states in
Revelati
on 21:8:
"But the
fearful,
and
unbeliev
ing, and
the
abomina
ble, and
murdere
rs, and
whorem
ongers
and
sorcerer
s, and
idolaters
, and all
liars,
shall
have
their
part in
the lake
which
burneth
with fire
and
brimsto
ne:
which is
the
second
death.
Now that
is bad
news,
but
heres
the good
news.
Jesus
Christ
said in
John
3:16:
"For
God so
loved
the
world,
that he
gave his
only
begotten
Son,
that
whosoe
ver
believet
h in him
should
not
perish,
but have
everlasti
ng life."
Just
believe
in your
heart
that
Jesus
Christ
died for
your
sins,
was
buried,
and rose
from the
dead by
the
power of
God for
you so
that you
can live
eternally
with
Him.
Pray and
ask Him
to come
into
your
heart
today,
and He
will.
Romans
10:9 &
13 says,
That if
thou
shalt
confess
with thy
mouth
the Lord
Jesus,
and
shalt
believe
in thine
heart
that God
hath
raised
him
from the
dead,
thou
shalt be
saved
For
whosoe
ver shall
call
upon the
name of
the Lord
shall be
saved."
If you
believe
that
Jesus
Christ
died on
the
cross
for your
sins,
was
buried,
and rose
from the
dead,
and you
want to
trust
Him for
your
salvatio
n today,
please
pray
with me
this
simple
prayer:
Holy
Father
God, I
realize
that I am
a sinner
and that
I have
done
some
bad
things in
my life. I
am sorry
for my
sins,
and
today I
choose
to turn
from my
sins. For
Jesus
Christ
sake,
please
forgive
me of
my sins.
I believe
with all
of my
heart
that
Jesus
Christ
died for
me, was
buried,
and rose
again. I
trust
Jesus
Christ
as my
Savior
and I
choose
to follow
Him as
Lord
from
this day
forward.
Lord
Jesus,
please
come
into my
heart
and
save my
soul and
change
my life
today.
Amen.
If you
just
trusted
Jesus
Christ
as your
Saviour,
and you
prayed
that
prayer
and
meant it
from
your
heart, I
declare
to you
that
based
upon the
Word of
God,
you are
now
saved
from
Hell and
you are
on your
way to
Heaven.
