Safety
Information
BioSafety Level: 1
Safety conditions pertaining to well characterized agents not known to cause disease
in healthy adult humans and of minimal potential hazard to laboratory personnel and
the environment should be used. Lab coats and gloves should be worn at all times.
Face protection is recommended when thawing a frozen vial stored in a liquid nitrogen
freezer.
Intended Use
KSOM mouse embryo medium is commonly used for in-vitro mouse embryo culturing KSOM and has
been shown to support the development of mouse preimplantation embryos in culture. Additional
studies have also shown that KSOM supplemented with amino acids increases the rate of blastocyst
stage development.1,2,3 For Research Use Only (RUO). Caution: Not intended for human or animal
diagnostic or therapeutic uses.
Directions for Use
Thaw frozen bottle of medium in a refrigerator (2C to 8C) overnight or slowly at room temperature.
Gently swirl thawed medium to mix and warm to 37C prior to use. Perform all actions using aseptic
culture conditions.
Once thawed, the medium can be stored for 1 week at 2C to 8C. Do not use past expiration date.
Medium used past the recommended expiration date may not perform optimally.
Note: The pH of sodium bicarbonate (NaHCO3) only buffered formulations will rise upon exposure to air
and should be adjusted as needed prior to use.
Equivalent to Millipore Cat. No. MR-021-D
