DIOCESAN CELEBRATION OF MARRIED LIFE
with Bp Michael, Saturday 3rd July at St John’s Cathedral, Norwich.
Mass woth renewal of Marriage Commitment at 11.00am, followed by
light refreshments. This is especially for those celebrating a significant
anniversary of marriage, or a new baby., but ALL are welcome. Please

THE ORDINATION OF LUKE GOYMOUR & MICHAEL COLLIS
will take place at the Cathedral on Saturday, 10th July at 12 noon at
the Cathedral. It will be a very big occasion with all priests and
deacons of the diocese attending and many hundreds of people. It will
be a wonderful event ot behold and in which to take part. If there is
enough interest in the parish, we will hire a coach for the event. Further
details to follow.
THE ANNUAL MISSION APPEAL will be made this year
by Fr Mark Minihane on behalf of the Augustinian Missions on
the weekend of May 22 / 23.

appeal last Sunday on behalf of the parish finances. Thank you to all
who signed up for Gift Aid - it really is a very simple and non-
intrusive procedure and has the potential of greatly increasing the par-
ish’s income to meet our needs and obligations. A useful reminder for
us all that it costs about £900 per week to run this parish; if this is not
the income, then we eat into our fast diminishing capital! Thank you
for listening and responding.
If you have already completed a form for Gift Aid,
please return it asap so it can be processed and new
envelopes can be given to you. If you missed out last week,
forms are still available in the church porches.

I will give you shepherds
after my own heart" (Jer. 3:15).
In these words from the prophet Jeremiah, God promises his people that he will
never leave them without shepherds to gather them together and guide them: "I will
set shepherds over them [my sheep] who will care for them, and they shall fear no
more, nor be dismayed (Jer. 23.4). ….
Without priests the Church would not be able to live that fundamental obedience
which is at the very heart of her existence and her mission in history, an obedience
in response to the command of Christ: "Go therefore and make disciples of all na-
tions" (Mt. 28:19) and "Do this in remembrance of me" (Lk. 22:19; cf. 1 Cor.
11.24), i.e:, an obedience to the command to announce the Gospel and to renew
daily the sacrifice of the giving of his body and the shedding of his blood for the
life of the world. By faith we know that the Lord's promise cannot fail.
