UPDATE ON DRAINAGE PROJECT
In November of 2015, the club completed the third and final phase
of a $1.1 million golf course drainage project that began in the Fall
of 2013. Over the past 2 years, the Clubs golf committee has
worked side-by-side with Turf Drainage from Florida to provide
the club a long-term solution to the drainage issues weve faced in
previous seasons.
Were delighted with the results that weve seen so far, and
anticipate that the newly completed drainage system will lead to a
significant upgrade in our membership experience with improved
turf quality and playability, as well as fewer days on Cart Path Only
following rain.
YOUTH PROGRAM
2015 saw perhaps the most successful year to date of the Lake
Toxaway Community Associations Youth Program. Consistent with
our mission to provide opportunities for all members of the family,
children 8-12 and 13-18 enjoyed five weeks of golf, tennis, croquet,
swimming and lunch at the club on Mondays, Wednesdays and
Fridays.
We also launched Toxaway Tots, a member family gathering at the
Clubs pool each Friday in the summer that drew an average of 30
families coming together for good times and fellowship.
Our expanded family night offerings were also a big hit with our
membership in 2015.
This past year, the club hosted five themed family nights during
the month of July that featured buffet-style dining and unique
entertainment each week with themes including; Haydini Magic
Show, Outback Animal Show, Family Olympics, Beach Party and
Sports Movie Night.
Our Tuesday evening dining saw record numbers as we added
Burgers & Brew to the rotation of events. Our Members
enjoyed a delicious selection of craft beers and burgers while
fellowshipping with friends and family.
