5th Year Chemical Engineering Students
SEMINAR-WORKSHOP RATIONALE
The field of Chemical Engineering is vast and it continues to grow as technologies
innovate and because of this, the roles of Chemical Engineers also expand into
different industries. Classroom discussions provide students the theories and
principles that are manifested in the processes of these commerce. Other means are
also needed to complement and enhance the learnings in class discussions and as a
result plant visits/course are being arranged by organizations to support its members.
In fulfillment of the requirement for this course, Field Trips and Seminars course coded
as CHE 524, that all students must be able to invite a professional who can impart their
knowledge about the applications of Chemical Engineering in different industries.

SEMINAR-WORKSHOP OBJECTIVES
This project aims
To meet the course, CHE 524: Fieldtrips and Seminars, requirements
To supplement the various theories acquired by the students in the classroom
for a simultaneous understanding and application
To cite important roles played by Chemical Engineers
To expose the students to different industrial plants that will be beneficial in
fulfilling academic requirements

An online pre-registration will be done prior the event date for the finalization of the list
of participants. Upon pre-registration, 150 Php is required by the travel agency (Unltd
Travel and Tours, Inc.) for the reservation of slot. December 1, 2015, and January 21,
2016 are the payments of 7500 Php for the individual expenditures like Flight Ticket
and Hotel reservation. Full payment must be accomplished on February 23, 2016.
Failure to pay on the said dates would result to increase in the travel package rate by
at least 2,000 Php. Participants must ensure that they have their passports before the
event date. Participants must strictly wear the prescribed attire and follow company
rules for safety purposes. The itinerary and program flow must be professionally
observed to avoid further delays. The No Waiver, No Tour will be strictly
implemented.

MONITORING AND EVALUATION


This project will be monitored through essays such as reaction paper after the activity
and to be evaluated by the Faculty Advisers of CHE 524 of the UST Chemical
Engineering Department.
