1. Scope and Objectives of the Course

The course aims at providing knowledge of topologies and small networks

by following the top-down approach from application to physical layer.

The course provides the base to prepare the students to study the
distributed network concepts.
To cultivate engineering students with theoretical knowledge about network
technologies.
To enumerate the layers of the OSI model and TCP/IP and to learn the
function(s) of each layer.

At the end of this course, students should be able to design, build and
analyze simple networks using the application-driven paradigm.
