Clothing
Please see pre departure letter sent with this information pack. Please bring easily slip off
sandals and clothing for warm weather as well as the odd rain shower. Please do not bring
short shorts or tank tops. An umbrella is a good idea.
9. Meal arrangements
School groups will be on their own for dinner on Thursday evening and so all participants
should bring enough cash for this one meal. Outside of this all meals are provided as part
of the festival for all participants.
10. Certification
We send a template student participation certificate to all teachers in charge of the trip
shortly after the festival finishes. Then teachers can give to students electronically or in
hard copy as they prefer. If teachers would like a certificate to endorse their professional
development participation please email your EC after the event.
12. Photos
Photos will be taken during the festival. These will be circulated to other participating
schools, posted on our website (via Flickr) and used in various publications/marketing
projects. If you do not wish for your students to be included in these photographs, please
let the Rep know at the start of the festival.
13. Housekeeping

4. Ensembles
There will be no choices at this festival and no distinction between workshops and
ensembles. ISTA will allocate the four ensemble groups. Students will stay in these groups
throughout the festival. There will be some dedicated ensemble time each day, and
teachers will be asked to run these reflective sessions. The rep will discuss this during the
teacher introductory meeting.

ISTA ARTISTS
Artistic director
N/A
Tom Scott Rep
I'm the event coordinator for high school festivals here at ISTA, so I'm responsible for
ensuring that all the high school festivals are planned, organised and executed perfectly,
working closely with hosts to make sure you all have the best experience. I also work on
AiR, PD and head up ISTA's quality assurance, safeguarding and safety duties. I live in
the United Kingdom with my partner Logan.
I have many interests which include keeping fit, socialising with friends and
travelling to name a few, most of which I can fulfil in part here at ISTA (though going for a
run in the searing heat of Athens is not for me).
Being a Rep is such an amazing experience and it gives you a great perspective on
an event. I love attending festivals that I've played a part to produce as you can really see
where everyones hard work has contributed to the events success. Rest assured I am
always calm and friendly and will do my very best to ensure that everyone has memories
they can cherish forever.
