1. - BACKGROUND, CONTEXT, AND PURPOSE LESSON GOALS:


* Apply the vocabulary and grammar acquired along the scholar period.
* Create an e-book based on students background knowledge.
* Allow students develop their own knowledge based on the multiple intelligences.
* Enhance in the students the use of technology resources and combine it with the L2.
* Motive students to learn English in a different way.
3. -OBJECTIVES:
* To create an e-book through the use of technology (flipbook) in order to students
apply grammar and vocabulary learned along the scholar period.
* To develop the four English skills through a real application in which student can
create their own virtual book in order to motivate their learning.
* Toshow in an open house the extend possibilities to use an e-book in order to acquire
a foreign language.
3. - JUSTIFICATION:

Nowadays, technology has become in a powerful tool of leaning, in fact many schools
around the word are using computers, iPad, smart phones, etc., in every day teaching
lessons.
In Ecuadorians high schools technology has drastically increased recently, as a
consequence students are updated with these advances, and are prepared to use
computers, iPad, smart phones, etc., without any problem; thus we as a teacher have
the obligation to bring them the opportunity to learn in a different ways, as in this
project pretend, by creating an e-book.
Additionally, by creating an e-book, we as teachers are giving the opportunity to
students the use of the multiple intelligences to develop their own virtual books. In fact
the students will be able to develop their skills such as creativity, imagination,
composition, art, music, etc. along the whole process.
Finally, the Ministry of Education and the Government pretend that students are
involved with technology in the teaching- learning process, as a consequences in the
different articles they support the use of technology, in the same way create a
innovative way to assess students.In thearticle 184 of the LOEI quotes En atencin a
su propsito principal, la evaluacin valora los aprendizajes en su progreso y
resultados; por ello, debe ser formativa en el proceso, sumativa en el producto y
orientarse a: 1. Reconocer y valorar las potencialidades del estudiante como individuo
y como actor dentro de grupos y equipos de trabajo; 2. Registrar cualitativa y
cuantitativamente el logro de los aprendizajes y los avances en el desarrollo integral
del estudiante; 3. Retroalimentar la gestin estudiantil para mejorar los resultados de
aprendizaje evidenciados durante un periodo acadmico; y, 4. Estimular la
participacin de los estudiantes en las actividades de aprendizaje. So we as a
teachers are going to give students the opportunity to be evaluated in a different way
and taking advantage of students skills. Additionally in thearticle 187 quote
Caractersticas de la evaluacin estudiantil. La evaluacin de losaprendizajes debe
reunir las siguientes caractersticas:Incluye diversos formatos e instrumentos
adecuados para evidenciar el aprendizaje de los estudiantes, y no nicamente pruebas
escritas
4. - ACTIVITIES:
Capacitate students in the use of Flipbook which is a software designed to create
virtual books. Every English teacher is going to work with his/her own courses in the
capacitation.
Organize students in groups of five. Chose a proper topic to work with. Each group will
be responsible to get information about the topic selected such as pictures, audio,
videos, texts, etc. The students must use the majority of vocabulary and grammar
acquired along the scholar period in order to create the e-book.
Guide students along the process to correct grammar errors and add with ideas.

The group of students will present the e-book in a CD and will be evaluated by the
English teacher. The most creative e-book will be selected to be presented in an open
house.
Show in an open house the variety use of virtual books not only in English area but
also in other areas.
5. - MATERIAL:
Flipbook: the software used to create virtual books.
Computer: necessary to create the book.
Projector: necessary to expose the best e-books.
Books: which students acquire the new vocabulary and grammar.
Camera: to take pictures, record videos and audios.
6. -EVALUATION:
To check the application of the new vocabulary and grammar comprehension by giving
students the opportunity to apply their own learning and skills.
The evaluation will be according a certain parameters pre-established by the English
area, such as:

Presentation.
Use of grammar and vocabulary.
Content.
Creativity.
Team work.
