Redfeathers

Once, there was a hen named Redfeathers. One day, she

went into the jungle. A wolf, Wolfie saw her. He wanted to eat
Redfeathers and caught it into a sack.
Redfeathers friend, Dovey saw that. She pretended to
have broken wing.
Wolfie went to catch Dovey. Redfeathers slowly came out
of the sack and ray away.
Wolfie thought Redfeathers was still inside the sack. He
went home. Wolfie tipped the sack into a pot of boiling water.
The stone fell out and hot water splashed all over Wolfie.

Reflection

The topic entitled Doing What is Right was started with the authentic video that
recorded by a YouTube. The three targeted objectives were achieved smoothly in the lesson.
This time around I think that they had familiarised with English language instructions when
compared to the last lesson. However, I still translate to Chinese language once they really
confused about some of my instructions.
The set induction had attract pupil's attention. I had taught the regarded text in last
week, so they had learnt the words and the vocabulary. While in this lesson, I focused on
reading skill and integrated with writing skill. For presentation stage, I observed that all the
pupils were good at reading as their pronunciation and intonation had achieved my targeted
level.
Besides, teaching aids which I used in the lesson were interesting and entertaining.
The activity that carried out in practice stage was engaging. Pupils looked so excited when
received the envelope and colour sheet. Then in group they needed to discuss the answer
and then paste on the colour sheet that I prepared. It took around 15 minute for them to
complete the task given. There were groups that could have finished very fast while there
were groups were very slow. Later on, I read the answers and asked them to check it. This
step was to ensure that every group could achieved the same learning standard.
Next, in the production stage I had asked them to write "My Hero" based on the text
that they learnt. It was more on creativity and innovation. The small booklet was used to
encourage their thinking and sequence the ideas into the prepared booklet with creativity
and fun. The activities employed was adapted for the pupils in target level and also ability. All
pupils managed to fill in the details in the time frame given.
In term of classroom management, I think I had made some improvement when
compared to last week. They were so noisy when giving the activities however in this lesson
I found out that they were more likely to carry out discussion rather than chit-chatting. So I
can conclude that that the activities in my lesson was engaging and interesting to reduce
their noise in class.
