individuals to fill the following vacant Position of Senior Manager-Channel Development & Planning
Senior Manager-Channel Development & Planning (Re-Advertised)
The positions report to the GM-Sales & distribution
Main Purpose of the Job
Measure performance and provide insights through research activities, collection and analysis/interpretation of data
concerning customers and their usage behavior, channels, competition and the macro-environment into relevant, accurate and
usable strategic knowledge
Prime responsibilities of the positions:

Achieve National sales targets (Prepaid Revenue, Quality Prepaid Gross Connections, and electronic Airtime Sales %, Retail
Universe outlets, Devices and Digital revenues).
Achieve savings on allocated Subscriber Acquisition Costs and promotion activities for the channel partner.
Achieve sales expansion and retail penetration targets by identifying, appointing and monitoring distribution partners
(distributors, recharge outlets, activation outlets, and prepaid touch points) in new and existing areas.
Carry out business development planning
Present to and consult with mid and senior level management on business trends with a view to developing new services,
products, and distribution channels.
Prepare Channel & Distribution strategy - develop and grow MTN's retail universe through franchisee and routes to market
Ensure MTN's trade channel remains a competitive advantage in terms of depth, breadth, customer experience and
branding.
Coordinate overall supply chain in the regions for all distribution channel partners
Coordinate overall supply chain in the regions for all distribution channel partners
Review procedures, policies and work flows of Channels and distribution department.
Establish new distribution channels e.g. EVD, Dealer Me2U, Mobile Money etc
Develop commission structures for dealers, agents and staff.
Driving sales revenue through building a strong channel networks.
Developing Go-to-Market plans for each of the channel partners and agent, ensuring the efficient execution of those plans
Analyze S&D initiatives/proposals and market data to recommend to dealers to make investments in products and
services to increase their sales and profitability
Responsible for the allocation and usage of S&D OPEX & CAPEX budget
Responsible for the recruitment of new franchisees and distribution channels.
Monitors and analyzes Telecoms trends, opportunities for future growth and channels distribution
Establishes Channel profitability and Cost management trends for better retail management drivers
Provides supports for COS analysis and modeling for all Dealer incentives , discounts and Bonus matrices to aid decision
making

Required Academic qualifications, Knowledge and Experience


Education

A business degree in Business Administration (or its equivalent) with a bias to marketing commerce

Post Graduate degree will be an added advantage

Manager track record of 5 years or more in relevant sector/ industry

At least 5-7 years experience in Retail/Channel Development, Business analysis, and product evaluation

Prior experience in marketing analytics for telecommunications or FMCG is desirable


Knowledge:

Telecommunications industry

MTN Uganda consumer products and services


Understanding of competitors products and services
Local and international trends and markets
Consumer environment and factors impacting consumer demand
Customer value management
Consumer behavior, market dynamics and research principles
Financial analysis
High volume data and financial analysis
Knowledge and ability to apprehend the interrelationships of presented facts in such a way as to guide action towards a
desired goal
Reporting and performance analysis
