Village Meeting was started with warm welcome of villagers. Livelihood Service Adviser
Shatlwar Nandkumar welcomed all the participants. He introduced all of us to the
villagers and explained purpose of the meeting. Briefly he tried to give information about
Basix and its work.

After formal introduction by him, all of us introduced ourselves. Mr Bidkar


Shivraj [FX] started with the introduction of BASIX. We discussed on the following
topics -

• Introduction of BASIX, about its operational area, objectives of BASIX & work
done by BASIX to promote livelihood.
• Introduction of the BASIXs Hingoli unit.
• Difference between BASIX and other financial institutions.
• How BASIX play role in rural livelihood promotion through triad.
• Difference between BASIX and banking services.
• Interest Rate and its types.
• Joint Liability Group concept & meaning of group guarantee.
• Insurance, its importance and coverage (Credit plus & Livestock Insurance,
combo product)
• Cash Security deposit and terms and conditions of it.
• Expenses for loan (Loan processing fees, File charges Etc.)
• Technical Assistance.
• Activities conducted by BASIX for rural development.
• Agriculture and Business Development Services and its importance.
• Institutional Development Services like SHG, Producer Group and its importance
with services provide by BASIX for institutional development.

Thereafter I explained in detail about agriculture and business development


services. I render information about need of these services and it’s important in livelihood
promotion. I describe about different services given by BASIX for institutional
development.

Thereafter we opened the session to the people for discussion and we found
that there was a good discussion among the people present. They have many queries and
we tried to clarify all of their doubts. Some of them are following

1. Which are the activities for which the company provides loan?
2. Why the interest rate of your organization is too high?
3. How many days it will take to get the loan?
4. Whether it is compulsory to make groups for getting loan? If we are not
able to make groups then is there any other way for getting loan?
5. Whether you will give any interest on the money, which we are depositing
as security?
6. What is the procedure for loan repayment?
7. Whether the premium amount being paid for life insurance will be paid
back to us if nobody in our group dies.
8. If Ag/Bds services are provided regularly?
9. If they can get Ag/Bds services without getting loan
10. Will we get excess loan amount if we repay first loan before time?
11. If we can get loan for starting new business?

We clarified each and every doubt of the people present in the meeting.
Finally peoples express positive view about our services and they started thinking of
making groups for taking the services provided by BASIX. They were convinced that
really this company is working for the betterment of the rural population. They promised
that they will take the services offered by us and will not give us any chance for
complaint.

There after in our staff meeting we finally decided to select village for our operations.
