INTRODUCTION

This project aims at developing a suitable information system to coordinate the

activities of the online vehicle isurance management,premium calculation, insurance claim and
corresponding reports on the same.
The project titled OnlineVehicle Insurance System(OVIS) aims at automating
the information system for vehicle Insurance. OVIS provides the user efficient and quick and error
free insurance policy generation report.

STUDY OF THE EXISTING SYSTEM

Existing system is based on manual work and all the process are done manually, so they maintain
registers and files for recording all the details of the system.
They maintain several registers for recording the entry of daily transactions such as insurance of
vehicles, renew existing insurance record etc.
They maintain the record of the Client so they keep each and every client related information
regarding the vehicle of client as well as the insurance of vehicle of each client.
They keep separate registers that stores the vehicle information.
They maintain the register or book for the insurance related information of each vehicle.
Thus maintaining client information, vehicle information, insurance information, Bank information
and all the things are done manually.

DRAWBACK OF THE EXISTING SYSTEM

The phase of system analysis process deals with problems which are affecting in the current
manual system. The problems are those which are affecting the Consultant in its daily routine work.
As the growing trend in InfoTech World of computers need of accuracy, perfect ness, speed and
high memory data storage is a must. Each and every problem must be solved with a least amount of
time and energy.

The problems faced by existing system are described as below:

Difficulty in Maintenance of Records.
Time Consuming.
Editing of data becomes a tedious job.
No Security of Data.
Mistakes Occurring in long Calculations [insurance, Total, Grand totals, yearly calculations,
etc]
Proper Generation of Report.
Lack of Efficiency and Man Power.
High Data Redundancy.
Data Inconsistency.

REQUIREMENT SPECIFICATION
I have visited many times at the organization to get information as well as basic requirements. As
each and every person in the organization have different types of job to be done so I met some of
the people of the organization. Their functional requirments are

Vehicle insurance calculation

Insert new vehicle insurance records
Update insurance records
Renew existing insurance records.
Delete existing records
Generate data report from entire records
Search insurance records

PROPOSED SYSTEM

The manual system is to be computerized in order to overcome the problems which affect the
existing manual system. Computerizing the existing system with the help of some programming
language, database package ease the work of the system up to a great extent.

THE OBJECTIVES CARRIED OUT IN PROPOSED SYSTEM

The main objectives of the proposed system is to help the user. The system can be handy to
the user in the following reasons:
To provide quick and efficient means for performing insurance related activities and to
effortlessly generate report of the system.
To Provide quick and efficient means for renew existing vehicle insurance and to effortless
generate report of the system.
To provide quick insurance premium calculation.
To provide increase in employees productivity.
To provide the facility for checking vehicle insurance status.
To provide the customer for buy insurance policy online.
Provide security to the database.
