On-Line Entries:
We will be using a Finish Lynx timing system for all events. As a result, our entry procedures will be made
on-line using Direct Athletics. If you have questions or difficulties with entries, please e-mail Terry
Coleman – colemantjc@mchsi.com.
 Please follow the directions on the following sheet to make your entries.
Entry Period
 Beginning on Friday, April 23, you may enter/edit your entries
 The sooner we get your entries the better since we have new people operating HyTek this year.
 Changes can be made until 10:00am on Thursday, April 29.
Changes/Substitutions/Scratches
 Your declared entries should be as accurate as possible. If there are changes that need to be
made, please send those by e-mail before you leave to avoid delays in starting the meet. Please
keep last minute changes to a minimum. Any changes that are not sent in ahead of time should be
made immediately upon your arrival at the meet. There will be a coaches meeting at 4:15pm for
any final instructions.
 Substitutions made after the start of the meet may not be reflected in the final results (name).
Entry Limits:
 Varsity: 2 entrants in most individual events and 1 team per relay.
 3 entrants per school in the boys – 1600m & 3200m (place only 2)
 3 entrants per school in the girls – 1500m & 3000m (place only 2)
 The relay names sheet for your varsity relays will be turned in to the press box before
running events begin.
Shot Put & Discus: You may enter 2 athletes in both the shot and discus.

High Jump & Long Jump: You may enter 2 athletes per event.
Boys starting height 5’4” – advance 2” at a time until 6’
Girls starting height 4’4” – advance 2” at a time until 5’

Special Non-Scoring Event: Wheelchair 100m & 200m will be held. No team points will be awarded for this event. Do
not enter on Directathletics. Please e-mail entries to Terry Coleman - colemantjc@mchsi.com

Masters 800m Run: There will be a masters 800m run contested for any men or women who are high school
graduates and older. There is no fee for this event. Participants should check in with the hip number table when
they arrive at the meet.

Awards: Medals will be provided for 1st through 3rd place in each event.

Trainer: There will be a trainer on site to deal with injuries. Ice will be available for injuries only. For general
use, please bring your own.

Time Schedule: We will start promptly at 4:30pm with all field events.

Scoring: Only 2 runners in individual events and 1 relay team will be scored for the varsity section.

Bus Parking: Busses will park in the City High lower lot. Teams can be dropped off at Raffensperger Track but
will NOT be allowed to park inside the track and field area. Please communication this information with your bus
driver.

How to Submit Entries - Track & Field
STEP 1 - ACCESSING YOUR DIRECTATHLETICS ACCOUNT
Each coach must have a DirectAthletics username and password for his/her team. If you don't know your
username and password, you will be able to create one or retrieve your existing account by following the
instructions below. You will use the same account to enter all meets run through DirectAthletics.

If you already have a DirectAthletics account for If you DO NOT have a DirectAthletics account and
your Track & Field team, and know your need to create one……………………………..

**NOTE ABOUT MEN'S AND WOMEN'S ACCOUNTS: You control only one gender at time, so you will
complete the below steps for your Men, and then switch to your Women's team and repeat the process (or vice
versa). The team you are controlling is listed on the blue navigation bar across the top of your account, for
example:
Sport: Track & Field Team: Guilford (M)

This indicates that you are controlling the Guilford MEN'S team (M=MEN). To switch to your Women's team,
you would select "Guilford (W)".

STEP 2--SETTING UP YOUR ONLINE ROSTER


Before entering an athlete into a meet, you must add all attending athletes to your roster. If an athlete is
already on your roster (from previous seasons or meets) you do not need to add him/her again.

1) Upon logging in, click the TEAM tab. (New users will automatically be in the TEAM module)
2) If you have used DirectAthletics before, you will see your existing athletes on your roster. New
Users should click the green "Add Athletes" link.
3) Click the green "Add Athletes" link under the Team Roster header. Select an approximate number of
athletes you would like to add (you can add more at any time).
4) Enter your athletes' First Name, Last Name, and School Year and click "Submit".
5) You may add, edit or delete athletes on your Team Roster at anytime by clicking the TEAM tab. To
add athletes, click the green "Add Athletes" link at any time. To delete or edit athletes, check the box
to the left of each athlete(s) and then click the red "Delete Selected" link or the blue "Edit Selected"
link respectively.

STEP 3--SUBMITTING ONLINE MEET ENTRIES


Once your athletes are added to your roster, you must submit your entries.

1) In the HOME tab (under Upcoming Meets) or in the SCHEDULE tab, click the green Register button
next to the meet you wish to enter.
2) If prompted, choose an entry method. We HIGHLY Recommend using the NEW, "Enter by Athlete"
method.
3) Follow onscreen instructions for submitting your entries. You will see a running tally of your entries on
the right side of your screen.
4) When you are finished with your entries, click the "Finish" link.
5) You will see a list of your current, submitted entries. Click the appropriate link to receive an EMAIL
confirmation or a PRINTABLE confirmation.
6) To edit your existing entries, click the blue Edit Entries button next to the meet name on your Upcoming
Meets or complete Schedule.
