On Saturday, February 20, 2016 at approximately 00:44 hours I, Officer Kyle Millican was
dispatched to Shuckers Oyster Bar (116 Conestoga Road Ridgeland, MS) in reference to an
altercation.
Upon arrival, I spoke with Randall Tucker
Tucker stated that he and his son
Stephen Tucker
were playing a game of pool. Tucker stated that a subject
walked up to their table and began to interfere with their pool game. Tucker stated that when he
asked the subject to step away from the table the subject cursed at him. Tucker stated that his son
Stephen then approached the subject and asked him to step away from the table. Several other
individuals then began to surround Stephen and one grabbed Stephen by his shirt. When Stephen
began to pull away from the individual a fight ensued. Tucker stated that he then tried to separate
the subjects from his son and one subject, later identified as Garrett Sanders
hit him with a closed fist on the right side of the face. Tucker stated that he continued to try to
separate the fight when he was struck in the face with a closed fist by a subject, later identified as
Joseph Sanders
Tucker stated that security officers then arrived and
separated the fight and RPD was called.
I later spoke with
who stated that he observed
a white male wearing dark clothing strike Tucker in the face as he was trying to diffuse the situation.
I also spoke with
stated that he
observed one subject strike Tucker in the face.
stated that he then grabbed the subject to
gain control of him.
both completed written voluntary statements that are
included in the case file. Garrett Sanders and Joseph Sanders were then taken into custody and
transported to RPD for booking purposes.
Tucker later came to RPD and completed a written voluntary statement that is included in the case
file. Tucker signed affidavits for simple assault on Garrett Sanders and Joseph Sanders. Tucker was
given a case card for future reference.
Garrett Sanders and Joseph Sanders were later given a court date of March 8, 2016 at 08:30 hours
and released from RPD custody on their own recognizance.
Shuckers management was able to provide video surveillance of the incident on a flash drive. This
flash drive was placed into evidence.
