system, in which all activities are coordinated not only vertically
throughout the organization, but also horizontally across multiple

Deliver to Customer

Operational activities of Regent Airlines and their scope of

development
It is very important for an operational manager to build a queue of process for every individual
customer so that every customer can satisfied with the process. A few days ago I travelled to
regent airlines from Dhaka to Chittagong. During my visit, I observed how they develop their
operational process to serve every customer in the airport.
Step-1: Security check
After arrival at airport I followed security check at the airport. That was not quite satisfactory.
Step-2: counter confirm and issue original ticket if anyone buy ticket online.
After passing security check, I headed to the regent airlines counter to confirm my ticket as I
booked ticket online. But there was no one to confirm my ticket.
Step-3: Distribute tea/coffee to the awaited passenger.
Then I waited to the waiting area of regent airlines. A staff came and request us to have some
tea/coffee if we need.
Step-4: Collect big luggage to check-in to flight.
After some time they opened their counter and called us to collect original ticket and then
collect our big baggage to check-in.
Step-5: Announce for immigration.
After some while, an executive come by and announce about time and process of immigration.
Step-5: Executive headed every passenger to the immigration area and request to complete
immigration process with Queue.
Then executive requested to follow her to the immigration area. When we go immigration
area, not a single seat been empty for us to seat. We stand there and didnt find any person or
manager to guide us. We had been confused about our departure time and plane number.
Step-6: After complete immigration process, all passenger will boarded to the airport bus.
At last, somehow I heard someone called regent airlines passenger to come over and complete
immigration process. Then we headed to a bus that taken us to the aircraft.

Step-7: An air crew welcome every passenger while boarding to the plane.
A smart crew welcomed us to the plane. When entered I didnt find any crew to headed me to
my seat.
Step: 8: Pilot announced to fasten seal belt before take-on.
Pilot of the plane announces about technical issue and request to fasten seat belt.
Step-9: After take-on, aircrew distribute food and drinks to the passenger.
After take-on, 2 crew members distribute complimentary light foods and snacks to the
passenger.
Step-10: Pilot greetings passenger to visit with regent airlines.
Before take-off pilot good bye to every passenger and thanks to visit with regent airlines.
It was a good as well as sour experience for me. During my visit I observed their lack of service
experience to the operation level. They should hire an experienced operation manager. An
operational manager with his executive tem can plan and provide one stop service to every
individual passenger at a time. So according to me they have enough opportunity to develop
their service and satisfied passenger, so that passengers encourage to visit regent airlines
again.

Conclusion

The achievement of operational excellence often required significant

change in operational management in order to be sustained. Operational
management must be well planned so that employees are involved in the
process can improved and provide better service in a more planned way.
