Gregor Mendel was an Augustinian monk in
a monastery in Brnn, Austria-Hungarian Empire
(now Brno, Czech Republic). He is also known as
the father of genetics for discovering the principles
of heredity.
Mendels objectives:
Principle of Dominance
The dominant trait dominates or
prevents the expression of the recessive trait.
Law of Segregation
The pair of genes segregate or
separate from each other during gamete
formation.
