Description
On Mill Turn parts if the advanced approach/retract type is set
to 'Direct' then, the generated approach and retract moves
are not satisfactory.
In German language version of CAMWorks, in the Advance tab
of operations parameters dialog box for multiaxis operations,
multiple text strings and fields in the tab are overlapping.

In XML Setup sheet, Coolant type has been misspelled


DefineCoolentFrom. This should be rectified to
DefineCoolantFrom.
After the tool automatically assigned by CAMWorks to an
operation is changed by the user, if the feature associated
with that operation is copied using Copy Feature
functionality and operations are generated for the copied
feature, then CAMWorks adds duplicate tools to the Tool Crib.
For Multiaxis Mill operations, if the Method assigned in the
Pattern tab is changed from Milling to Drilling and then
reverted to Milling, then the order of tabs within the
Operation Parameters dialog box changes.
In Multi axis operation parameters the parameters of arc
leadin are not selectable. The same can be set in TechDB only.
For specific assembly file, in the NC code generated for Drill
toolpath of a pattern feature, the parameter
IS_PATTERN_FEATURE is set to FALSE.
In Chinese language version of CAMWorks, in the Advance tab
of Contour Mill operation, the text string in Chinese for
Upto & Past in the dropdown list is incorrect.

Currently, when inserting any operation, if operation does not
exist, then the Use TechDB Defaults default option is
displayed; if the operation exists, then Copy from Operation
default option is displayed. CAMWorks must be enhanced
such that if user selects the Use TechDB defaults option for
an existing operation, then this same option (instead of Copy
from Operation must be displayed as default option when
inserting a new operation.
In Chinese language version of CAMWorks, in the NC tab of
Contour Mill operation, the text string in Chinese for OFF
option is incorrect.
If CAMWorks 2015 SP1.1 is installed on a fresh machine, then
the Covert to 5 Axis option fails to generate toolpath. The
issue is rectified only if a previous version of CAMWorks 2015
is re-installed and CAMWorks 2015 SP1.1 is installed again.
In an assembly when the user selects to insert an operation
from CAMWorks Tool tree, then allow the user to select
setups which are valid and empty as well.
When editing an operation, if user wishes to preview the
toolpath, the Operation Parameters dialog box collapses. The
F5 button must be supported to preview the toolpath without
collapsing the Operation Parameters dialog box.
In Chinese language version of CAMWorks, in the Warning
message prompting for Rebuild, the Chinese text strings for
Full and Light are incorrect. In the CAMWorks Feature
tree and Operation tree, the Chinese text string for Sub
(Sub-spindle) to is incorrect.
The Create Setup button must be made available all the
time within the New Feature dialog box. Currently, this button
is not shown if there are pre-existing setups.
For Contour Mill toolpath generated for an Open Pocket with
island with Ramp Method set as Angle, the corresponding NC
code or CL file generated does not generate correct Cutter
compensation code.
For specific turn part with four OD groves, the Bore Rough
toolpath overcuts the part as defined allowance values are
not taken into consideration.
For specific assembly part, when Avoid Area command is
defined for a Z Level operation or Area Clearance operation,
then CAMWorks crashes.
The Spiral ramping method needs to be the default setting in
Entry/Retract tab of the 3 Axis Mill operations when the
Pattern type is changed to Adaptive.

In the customized TechDB, a user-defined Turn Thread


strategy was inserted and then removed. User then reinserted
it back by adding the necessary Features and Operations.
However, the Thread Conditions library does not list the
strategy after reinsertion.
Add methods on ICWTool interface to get/set feed, speed and
coolant.
For Rough Groove operations, if user assigns a User-defined
Tool Block instead of Automatic and regenerates the
toolpath, the user-selected Tool Block is not updated. This
use is observed only for Front Turret.
When creating/ editing a 2.5 Axis feature, the RMB context
menu for the Selected Entities list box must provide an
option Deselect All for deselecting all selected entities.
Currently there is no context menu for this list box.
For specific part, when Save Operation Plan command is
executed for Center Drill operation, the user-defined
machining depth is not retained.

If multiple non-connected segments are selected to


interactively define an Open Profile feature and if the cut
direction is reversed in the Feature Profiles tab, then the
updated cut direction is not retained for the operations and
toolpaths generated for the Open Profile feature.
For Contour Mill Toolpaths with Ramp Angle defined, the
number of helical moves must remain the same when the
Toolpath Center is changed from With Compensation to
Without Compensation.

Description
For multiaxis toolpath with flowline curves, the tilt axis is
guided by Tilt through line and the line tilt strategy is All line
weighed by distance. If the 3D sketch defining the tilt line is
modified and the toolpath is rebuilt, the tool axis tilt doesnt
get updated.
In Part mode, if the Calculate safe CNC comp toolpath is
active or inactive, CAMWorks immediately warns the user
when the option impacts the toolpaths and recalculates
automatically. However, this warning message is not observed
in assembly mode.
API to retrieve the User Defined Clearance value defined for
multi axis operations.
For specific mill part, if the Skim option is selected for
Clearance Plane type in NC tab for Contour Mill operation,
then the resultant toolpath gouges the part.
When CAMWorks 2015 SP1 is used with customized TechDB,
then for the specific part, when the Extract Machineable
Feature and Generate Operation Plan commands are
executed, CAMWorks crashes.
On HP machines, it takes more than 11 minutes to load a
specific saved part. Time taken for toolpath computation is
also more.
In TechDB, the default Operation Parameter "Opt. Stepover%"
for Area Clearance is missing.
SQL to SQL import from older to new version of CAMWorks
takes a huge amount of time. In earlier versions, this process
was pretty quick.
For corner slot features, the provision to select/deselect
multiple segments to define air segments using Shift and
Control buttons must be provided.
In XML based Setup Sheets generated using CAMWorks,
SOLIDWORKS Configuration Specific information must be
made available in the Setup sheet.
When manually assigning a tool to a hole operation, the user
cannot assign any User Defined Tool from the TechDB
because the user defined tool is not present as an option in
the dropdown list of the Tool Select Filter dialog box.
The ability to calculate the machining depth of a Countersink
operation using the Countersink feature diameter does not
work. Even though the feature parameters indicate a
countersink diameter, this value is not being applied to the
TechDB process to calculate the tool machining depth.

For the specific Mill part, the Engrave toolpath generated
gouges the part.
CAMWorks allows for the creation of a Dovetail tool with an
angle greater that 90 degrees, which is incorrect. An error
message must ideally be displayed is user attempts to assign
an angle greater than 90 degrees.

Wire EDM

The option to Arc fit a Contour Mill toolpath is available in Mill


mode. The same function must also be made available in Wire
EDM toolpaths.

Operation

When same tool is used for more than one operation, any
changes made to the tool parameters must be updated in the
other operations and all the operations should be
regenerated with the new parameters. A message should be
displayed indicating the operations which have been
regenerated.

Wire EDM

In Wire EDM mode, under Cutting Conditions settings, the


wire diameter can be assigned only from a dropdown list of
specific diameters. A generic solution must be provided
wherein user will be able input/add a desired wire diameter
value.

In CAMWorks 2015 SP0, it takes a lot of time to open the


Operation Parameters dialog box for the Contour Mill
operation generated for an interactively defined Open Profile
Feature when the mouse pointer is placed over the
SOLIDWORKS Feature Manager Design Tree.

Mill-Turn machine.
For a Rough Mill operation with pattern
type set to 'Spiral in" the toolpath near an
island makes the movement in
"Conventional" way even though the cut
method is set as "Climb".
Add API for reversing the direction of
interactively added Mill Part Setups.
In the specific assembly whenever the user
does Edit Definition on any operation,
CAMWorks crashes.
In Chinese version of CAMWorks, in the
dialog box for interactively inserting a Turn
feature, the text for Sub Spindle and
Main Spindle in the Spindle dropdown list
needs to be corrected.
The spindle attributes of feature conditions
and matching operation conditions are
different in default TechDB. This results in

Description
In the Operation Parameters dialog box for
Multiaxis Mill operation, the text for the
Help button is missing.
If the user inserts a rectangular pocket
feature by selecting multiple faces, then the
inserted feature will be of the type of
irregular pocket and not that of a
rectangular pocket.
When inserting Contour Mill operation, the
Rest Machining parameters are activated
even if the Method is set to None in the
Operation Parameters dialog box for
Contour Mill operation. They get
deactivated only after changing the
method.
Provide functionality to enable using part
faces for defining Open Profile features
similar to how faces can be used to define
pockets and slots.
In the Insert Operation dialog box, the
selected feature gets deselected when user
changes the type of operation. For
example: From Roughing to Contouring.
For specific part, when user interactively
inserts a pocket feature by picking valid
edges to define its profile, an error message
which states that some of the profiles
selected are invalid is displayed.
When defining an open profile feature, the
user has the ability to select multiple edges.
But the user defined 'Tool side' is not
retained when the feature wizard is closed
after defining the features.
For the specific mill part with pocket
feature containing a filleted island, on autodetecting the island during interactive
feature insertion, the inner loop of fillet is
considered instead of the outer loop
resulting in wrong feature.
VoluMill toolpath with Entry method set as
Pre-drilled holes doesnt consider the
user-defined position of the holes, resulting
