Those who are currently in practice will have a limited time to pursue registration through
this path as it is only offered until December 31, 2015. All applicants must meet all
requirements (including examinations and bridging courses) and complete registration
with the College of Pharmacists of BC by December 31, 2015.
*Note that if you did not successfully complete the PEBC Evaluating Exam (Step 1 below)
on or before April 2015, you will not be able to pursue registration through this path, as it will
not be possible to complete the requirements before the deadline.
After that time, those wishing to become registered, will have to take the new to practice
path and successfully complete a CCAPP accredited pharmacy technician program offered
through a public or private college.
In order to be eligible to take the currently in practice path, you must have a minimum of
2000 hours of relevant pharmacy practice in the past 3 years. Specific duties defined as
pharmacy practice are identified on the Pharmacy Examining Board of Canada (PEBC)
website at www.pebc.ca.
Heres what you need to do to become registered as a pharmacy technician in BC.
