matched funded by the Rotary Club who support our school. Please look through your books, DVDs and CDs and bring
any that you wish to donate to this event. All classes will be invited to attend and parents are most welcome to come

NURSERY OPEN DAY- MONDAY 4

TH

APRIL
th

All are welcome to come and visit our exciting and stimulating nursery on Monday 4 April between 9am-11am and
1pm-3pm. Our nursery offers outstanding provision; weekly swimming lessons; a large, exciting outside classroom; a
fun and engaging start to your childs education and a qualified teacher working as part of a highly skilled foundation
team. For more information please contact us on 01772 335065 and visit www.wldps.com (Macaw class). We look
forward to seeing you.
EMAIL DETAILS PLEASE READ
If you have not already completed the letter requesting your email address, please can you complete and return it
to school. In the future, we have plans to allow you to see how your child is making progress and see their current
attainment online. To do this, we will need your email details to start this process. This view of your childs progress
will not replace the need for a meeting with your teacher, but it will be a useful method of keeping you informed in an
ongoing manner as teachers continually update their teacher assessments of your children using our online
assessment software. This is something which the school have been working on in the past months and it will be
possible to share with parents in the near future. I do hope that parents will find this useful as feedback regularly
informs us that you, the parents, want to learn more of your childrens progress and their ability to meet year group
expectations within the revised National Curriculum. Please send your letter with your email address to the school
office.
SWEETS, CHOCOLATE AND CRISPS IN SCHOOL
We would like to remind parents that children are not allowed sweets, chocolate and crisps at break time. We
welcome children bringing cereal bars, fruit, dried fruit snacks and any other approved healthy snack. Children who
bring school dinners are welcome to have items that are approved by parents at the lunchtime break but these should
not be eaten at other times of the day. Many thanks for your support.

SPORT RELIEF
Thank you to all Year 5 children who have brought in sponsor money for last Fridays Sport Relief event. If you still have
st
sponsor money to bring in, please can we ask that its brought in to school by Friday 1 April. Thank you.
SWIMMING: LESSONS OUT OF SCHOOL IMPORTANT NOTICE
Swimming lessons after school are changing from the start of April and will be supplied by IATD Fitness Ltd in the
future. If you are interested in your child receiving excellent swimming tuition, please contact IATD Fitness on
01772 750769 or ask the school office for details. All children receiving swimming lessons will help to keep the pool
well maintained and contribute towards securing this facility for the future so that all our children can continue to
enjoy it. Parental contributions however remain a most important source of income and I would like to urge you to
keep these regular. Swimming for the year is 36 OR 12 each term this can be paid on Parentpay or cheques to LCC.
