OPTION 2 TERM REPORT

FALL 2015
This is a single student assignment given only to Ayub Shahzada for the case study Creating People
Advantage in 2014-2015 from the Boston Consulting Group (BCG), for an assessment in lieu of an
experiential term report. Any other student wishing to do a case study at this stage will need to choose
another case study as offered on line in yahoogroups. This, is what you need to do in order to complete this
assessment for 10 points, as follows:
INTRODUCTION
Give an introduction to this case study, discussing its relationship to Organization behavior, how it impacts on
motivation, leadership, teamwork, stress management and organizational culture. This will probably take five
to eight pages.

ANALYSIS
Identify the following:

1. The Major Issue


(State the issue first and then on a new line below, give your reasons for choosing this issue)

2. The minor issues


(State at least 5 issues but not more than 10 one by one and number each one)

3. The Major Objective


(State the objective first and then on a new line below, give your reasons for choosing this objective)

4. The minor objectives


(State at least 5 objectives but not more than 10 one by one and number each one)

5. The Pros and Cons of the major issue


(Make out a table with Pros on one side and Cons on the other side. State at least 4 pros and 4 cons
of the major issue)
Remember that the major objective is the most important thing or item that case study is trying to
communicate to you the reader. It is likely to cover most, though not necessarily all of the minor
objectives

Summarize each of the main chapters in not more than a single page each. The chapters are:

Based on the lessons of this case study what do you think you would recommend for IOBM?
BENEFIT
What do you think you have learned from this case study by BCG? Discuss in not more than one page.
RECCOMENDATIONS
Give at least 5 recommendations of your own addressing the major issue that you have identified. Do not
repeat what the case study has already recommended, make sure that your recommendations are your own.
Try to think outside the box and be original, using your creativity as well as your analytical ability.
------------------DELIVERY
This case study is due on Saturday December 5th latest by 9pm on Turnitin. You must also submit a copy of
your presentation by e-mail at bkhairi2004@yahoo.co.uk by 8pm on the same evening. A presentation is due
on December 7th in class using not more than twelve slides introducing the topic (1 slide), giving the analysis
section (3slides max), one slide each for the 5 parts of the summary (try to limit each part to not more than
3points); one slide for the case methodology; one for the application; one for your recommendations (not
more than 2) and a last slide for what you learnt which consists of more talking and less reading from the
slides. Please download and bring a copy of the "Assessment of presentation" (pdf) which must accompany
your hard copy and will be the basis of your presentation grade.
Practice your presentation of not more than 25 minutes before you come to class because you will be
penalized for any errors you make. Penalties for lateness will be assessed as per schedule given in the term
report. Moreover the presentation of the term report must be made on December 7th otherwise all
presentation marks will be lost.
Spelling mistakes will cost 0.3points per error. Do not use sweeping statements like for example: We all
know or Everybody knows or As a famous man once said or such similar, unfounded statements. Any
source or statement you use must be sourced and references with text, date of publication and page number
using the APA format (www.apastyle.org). The APA format incidentally is also given in your MS Word (the
REFERENCES tab). If you quote from the case itself, you must use a footnote with page number and ad the
reference to your Bibliography secton. All pages must be numbered.
The report must have a separate cover sheet with name spelt as given in Peoplesoft and ID numbers; the
semester (Fall2015); instructor name (Baber Khairi); Course (MAN302-D); Assignment (Term report
option2), and due date (December 5, 2015).
