2010 SOUTHERN INTER HIGH/COLLEGE HORSE TRIALS

BRIEFING SHEET

CLUB HOSTING EVENT: Huntingfield Pony & Riding Club Inc

DRESSAGE
Start Time 8.30am
Presentation Plaiting is required
Marshalling All riders are to present for gear check
prior to reporting to the appropriate
marshaller in the warm up area well
before their estimated riding time. The
dressage marshaller will call riders for
their test as appropriate. Riders must be
prepared to ride early if there are
scratchings in their ring.
Rings Both rings are on the main sand arena.
Ring 1 is the one closest to the float
parking.
Ring 2 is the one furthest from the float
parking.

(Equestrian Australia effective 1/7/2009)
Rules Current rules as promulgated by the
Pony Club Association of Tasmania Inc
for the running of horse trials will be
adopted for the event.
CROSS COUNTRY
Course walks Sunday 8.30 am
Sunday 10.00 am
Meeting place for course walks Front of Canteen, announced over PA
Estimated start time 12.30 pm
Riders will not ride in number order.
Grade 2 will be first, followed by Grade
3 and then 4. A list of the starting order
will be placed on the notice board.
Eliminated riders Will be permitted to complete the course
at the discretion of the Stewards.
However all competitors who have a fall
must remain unmounted and walk back
to their float.
Jump Judges briefing (time & 10.30 am in front of canteen
location)
Jump Judges boards Will be issued to School coordinator
along with back numbers
Medical arm bands Compulsory – to be worn on left arm
only, with correct information
Body protectors Highly recommended for this event.
SHOW JUMPING
Course Will be on the main sand arena directly
outside the canteen.
Course walks To be advised
Estimated start time As soon as practical after Cross Country
has finished. Plenty of notice will be
given over the PA. Riding Order will be
posted on the notice board.
GENERAL
Dogs Not permitted on grounds
Parking Parking is very limited, please park as
closely and safely as possible and as
directed.
Gates will be open at 7.00am
Canteen Full canteen will be available
Back numbers Will be issued to School Coordinators.
Riders are to wear back numbers and
helmets at all times when mounted, even
in warm up. If the back number is not
returned your school will be invoiced for
the replacement costs.
Scratchings All riders are to scratch via their School
Coordinator at the earliest possible time.
Protests If you have a query regarding your
score, you must refer it to your School
Coordinator, who in turn will follow it
through on your behalf. Under no
circumstances are riders or parents to
approach the scoring team direct. Any
queries, including marshalling queries
must be referred to your School
Coordinator..
Presentation Mounted in full formal school riding
uniform.
Results These will be obviously posted on the
board during the course of the day.
They will also be placed on the Club
website at www.huntingfield.org.au the
following week for downloading etc

Penalties Riders who are eliminated in any one
single phase may compete in subsequent
phases but will carry a 250 point penalty
excepting those who have had a fall and
are not medically fit to complete the
subsequent stages. This will allow the
Team they are in (if applicable) not to be
eliminated.
Cancellations, Postponement etc If there may be some reason why you
believe the ODE may be cancelled or
varied etc due to floods, bushfires,
extreme heat etc, you should check the
Club Hotline on 9539 4772. This
hotline is updated very quickly when
required so ensure you check it before
leaving home if in doubt
