RRB NTPC (Graduate) Recruitment How to Apply


Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has announced 18252 for filling up vacancies in the
9 posts of Non Technical Popular Categories (NTPC) in 2016. The applications can only
be made Online till midnight of January 25, 2016.

NOTES
1. While you may modify your submitted details, including the RRB you wish to
apply for, you need to be very careful in filling up your details at each stage, as
you will be required to pay a fee of Rs. 100/- each time you wish to modify the
details submitted by you.
2. The websites to fill the form are generally slow and it may take a long time to fill
in the application, with a few disconnections. Therefore, it is very important to fill
the forms as early as possible and to atleast keep the required documents at hand
before starting the application process.
The step-wise details of filling up the application are as below:

Step 1 : Check Eligibility


It is extremely important to check your eligibility for sitting the RRB NTPC exam 2016
in respect of the positions you are eligible to apply for. You should only apply if you are
eligible to sit the exam on all accounts of Age, Educational Qualification and Medical
Fitness (especially the Visual Acuity or eyesight measures). Make a note of the positions
that you are eligible to apply for.

Step 2 : Decide your Preferences


After having found yourself eligible for some or all posts, you need to decide your
preference of the following:
1. The RRB you wish to apply for. Please note that you can only apply to vacancies
under ONLY ONE RRB. Choosing your RRB will be the first step of applying to
the NTPC recruitment.
2. The preference order of the post you wish to apply for. You need to fill in the
preference order of the positions you would want to get recruited to. There is no
fixed number of posts, so you just need to write down the posts you are eligible
for and mark the priority against them in form of 1, 2, etc, where 1 is highest
priority.

Step 3 : Complete the Pre-requisites


Before you start filling in the application, you should ensure that the following are
handy with you, so that you can refer to them and fill in / upload the required details:
1. Email Id and Mobile Number : Your email id and mobile number are the most
important points of contact by the board with you. So, you must only provide your
own and have them till the RRB NTPC recruitment is completed. None of these
details, once submitted, can be changed.
2. Mark sheets : Class 10th and Graduation. While class 10th marksheet is required to
ensure that the name, date of birth, parents names, board of exam and year of
passing are filled in correctly, Graduation marksheet is required to put in the
college name, degree and percentage marks.
3. Aadhar Card, if available : You will need to provide the Aadhar number
4. Scanned Copy of photograph : you will need to upload a scanned copy of your
photograph in the fourth stage of filling the application. The photograph should
not be more than 3 months old and should be 3.5 cms by 3.5 cms in size. You
should be looking straight and not be wearing a cap / hat / dark glasses in the
photograph. The scan of the photograph can be taken at 100 dpi setting and should

be saved in jpeg / jpg format and the size should be between 15 KB to 40 KB.
FOR PWD candidates, eligible to use scribe : In addition to the above, you should
have the details (name, date of birth, fathers name and a scanned photograph,
following same conditions as in 4 above) of the scribe available with you.
FOR SC/ ST Candidates : In addition to points 1 to 4 above, you should have a
scanned copy of the Community Certificate to upload in the fourth step of the
application process. The scanned copy should be in jpeg / jpg format and 50 KB
to 100 KB in size.
FOR Ex-serviceman : Date of Attestation and Date of Discharge, alongwith those
mentioned in points 1 to 4 above
FOR State/ Central Government/ PSU employees : Date of appointment,
alongwith those mentioned in points 1 to 4 above.
NOTE : If you fall into multiple categories from 5 to 8, then you need documents
pertaining to each category.

Step 4 : Fill in Primary Details


To start your application process, you need to access an RRB website and click on the link that
will take you to the common website for online application to the Railway Recruitment Board
(RRB) NTPC 2016 exam. A list of links through which you can reach the online application
website are :

RRB Ahmedabad, RRB Ajmer, RRB Allahabad, RRB Bhopal, RRB Bhubaneswar, RRB
Bilaspur, RRB Chandigarh, RRB Chennai, RRB Gorakhpur, RRB Guwahati, RRB Jammu &
Srinagar, RRB Kolkata, RRB Malda, RRB Mumbai, RRB Muzaffarpur, RRB Patna, RRB
Ranchi,RRB Secunderabad, RRB Thiruvananthapuram

You will need to follow the following steps after reaching any of these sites:
1. Click on New Registrations
2. Choose the RRB you wish to APPLY to.
3. Accept the Declaration : that you ensure that you fill required eligibility criteria and

have completed a Graduate Degree as on date of applying

4. Fill in the Primary Details : Important to note here is that if your 10th mark sheet states
the details in vernacular language, then you would be required to select that language
and then type your name and fathers name in English and hit tab. The text will
automatically be translated to the selected vernacular language. Ensure that the spelling
matches that your of your marksheet. In case it does not, then try different spellings
while typing in English. You will require most of the documents listed in pre-requisites
to fill up this page.

5. Ensure that all the details filled are correct, then click Click to Continue button. The
details filled by you will be displayed and an option to edit them will be shown. This
editing is not chargeable.

6. Choose the option to verify that data is correct and click Submit to generate an
activation email / one time password on your mobile. Note, after this Submit, you will
only be able to modify data in Primary details after paying a fee of Rs. 100/-.

Step 5 : Generate Registration No.


After having submitted the Primary Information, you will be sent an activation link in
your email and a one time password (OTP) on your phone. You may use either of these

to activate your account and generate your Registration Number. If you wish to use the
activation link in your email, then check your inbox for an email from RRB Online
Registration portal. Click on the provided link, and your Registration Number will be
displayed on screen. In case you wish to use the OTP, then click the Use OTP button on
our screen and submit the OTP to view your registration number.

Step 6 : Log in to fill Secondary Details


Now you need to fill in the Secondary Details. For this you are required to follow the
following procedure:
1. Go to the RRB application site that you registered for.

2. Click on Candidate Login under Status / Print / Modify Application heading

3. Choose the RRB you applied for, and click Candidate Login / Print Application
button

4. Fill in your Registration Number, Date of Birth and Captcha text to login.

5. Fill the required details in the Additional Information, Post Preference Settings, Exam
City Choice, Exam Communication and Educational Details sections. After you have
filled in the Additional Information, wait for the posts that you are eligible for, to be
displayed. Then click on Set / Reset Preferences button to insert your priority rating. It
is always best to put in a rating for all of the available posts. Also, while filling the Exam
Communication details, once you have selected the State or UT, wait for the page to
display the district field and then the city field.

6. Recheck for accuracy of all information filled and confirm the required check box and
Click on Submit button.

Step 7 : Deposit Fee


Next you will be taken to the page to deposit fee, if you are required to submit the same.
The following modes of payment are available :
1. Debit Cards / Net banking : You can choose to deposit fee through Debit Card or
Netbanking of various banks. If you have the same from SBI, then no additional
charges are levied. You will be taken to the next step of uploading documents on
success of payment.
2. SBI Bank Challan : This is a manual payment mode, where in, you will be
required to download the Bank Challan, take it to the nearest SBI Bank Branch
and deposit the fee. After you have done so, you should Login again as per Step 6

and provide the required details and proceed further to the next stage of uploading
documents. There are no transaction charges levied for this mode.
3. Post Office Challan : Similar to the SBI Bank Challan mode, you will need to
download and print the Postal Challan and take it to a nearest computerized Post
Office to deposit fee. This is the least preferred method, as you will be required to
wait for two to three days before you can move to uploading required documents
and completing the application process and because there will be additional
transaction charges levied by the Post Office.

Step 8 : Upload Documents

After verification of fee submission through any of the modes, (instantly for Debit
Card / Netbanking / SBI Challan and two to three days later for Post Office Challan
mode) you will be taken to the Uploading Documents page. This is the last stage in the
RRB NTPC 2016 exam application process. While the scanned photograph is required
to be uploaded by all candidates, other documents pertaining to relaxations like for
PWD, SC/ ST, etc are only to be uploaded if you have marked yourself the same in the
application. Upload the required documents, click on the declaration and submit your
final application by clicking on the Complete my registration button.
This marks the completion of your registration. You can print your application form by
clicking on Modify Application link on the online application website of your RRB,
through which you started the registration process. NOTE that before being able to
modify a submitted application, you will be required to make a payment of Rs. 100/each time you choose to do so. So ensure that you fill in the details correctly in the first
time. But it is always better to recheck the print of your application and make the
changes, if any, in one go.
Having completed the registration process, you need to now concentrate on preparing
