Walking with God

In every page of the bible is presented Gods desire for men to be close to him,
to know him, to walk with him. This is the desire of God to all mankind.
Remember the word Emanuel is God with us... he became flesh and dwell among
us, because God wants to walk with us.
The bible speaks about God as a personal, social being. So much in the bible
refers to God in human term, e.g... Heart, hands, eyes, ears, etc., as though he
were a man.

I.

Only three times in the Old Testament people mention

walk with God.
1. Enoch Gn. 5:22-24 seven generation from Adam.. 365 years walk
with God
2. Noah Gn. 6:9 walked faithfully with God.
3. The Levites Ml. 2:4-9 they walked with me.

II.

The meaning of the word walk with God

1. The original language denotes intimacy fellowship, a close
relationship and communion with a personal.
2. In the case of Abraham he called friend of God. Jas. 2:23
A. Friend is a person with whom one has a bond of mutual
affection,
B. synonyms: companion, , bosom friend, best friend,
close friend, intimate , confidant, familiar, soul mate,
second self, shadow, playmate, playfellow, classmate,
schoolmate, workmate, ally, associate;
C. When Abraham had a problem or need somebody to
talk with.. who is always with him? He always talked
with God from chapter 12 to chapter 25.
D. The more you open to each other the more you close
to each other.
E. Walking with God is something all of us should desire,
to enjoy an intimate, closeness, personal relationship.

III.

God would walks with one manner of men. If we are to

walk with him, we must be that kind of men
1. Like Noah
a) Noah was a righteous man Heb. 11:4-6
b) He had faith and obedience like Abel, Enoch Moses and
Joshua
c) Righteousness means conforming to the divine standard of
God..
d) These things God still seeks in men who would walk with him
e) God does not demand sinlessness of us but that we have
all the qualities he desire, LOVE,HOLY, RIGHTEOUS, HONEST,
ECT

IV.

GOD ONLY WALKS WITH THOSE WHO ARE IN AGREEMENT

WITH HIM. IF WE ARE TO WALK WITH GOD, WE MUST BE IN
AGREEMENT WITH HIM.

Do two walk together unless they have agreed to do so?

Can two people walk together without agreeing on the direction?
English Standard Version
Do two walk together, unless they have agreed to meet?
New American Standard Bible
Do two men walk together unless they have made an appointment?
1) AGREE means to make an appointment to meet at an appointed time and
place
2) Example. two people decided to take a walk together, one of them said.
Lets meet on the corner and well take a walk together they could not
walk together because they had not agree on the time only the
place
3) Lets meet at 7:00 on the corner and well walk together. They could not
walk together because they did not agree the place.
4) Yet if they said. Lets meet at 7; 00 on the corner and they had agree on
the time and place they can walk with each other.
5) So it is with us, if we walk with God, we must do so at the appointed time
and place
A. TIME- when accept Jesus Christ. Mt. 28:18-20.Acts 2:38. Romans 6,
Gal. 4,
B. PLACE- in Christ Col. 2:6, his body, his kingdom,
C. Being a member in his church is not enough WE NEED TO WALK
WITH God in his path, in his light, in his son, in his law,
commandments and his way

Conclusion
To walk with God then, we must be the manner of men that God walks with.
God walks with, and we must be in the appointed time and place

My god and I will go for eye together
Well walk and talks as good friends should and do
This earth will pass and with it common trifles
But God and I will go unendingly
