AIR BIKE
PROJECT SYNOPSIS
Page 1
AIR BIKE
Aim/Objective
The objective of this project is to make a ECO-FRIENDLY and economical vehicle
which can run on Compressed air.
Social Applications/Usefulness
The main aim of this project is to run a vehicle on compressed air. To get an ecofriendly and economic vehicle which can be used id day to day life with ease by a
common man.
As the pressurized air expands, it is cooled, which limits the efficiency. This
cooling reduces the amount of energy that can be recovered by expansion, so
practical engines apply ambient heat to increase the expansion available.
Conversely, the compression of the air by pumps (to pressurized the tanks)
will heat the air. If this heat is not recovered it represents a further loss of
energy and so reduces efficiency.
Storage of air at high pressure requires strong containers, which if not made of
exotic materials will be heavy, reducing vehicle efficiency, while exotic
materials (such as fiber composites) tend to be expensive.

AIR BIKE
It should be noted that the air engine is not truly emission-free, since the
power to compress the air initially usually involves emissions at the point of
generation.
Methodology/Planning of Work
The project started with the research of the proposed title. The result of that research
is then discussed with the supervisor. Once the title of the project was approved, the
background of study of this project was explored.
After all the part is complete to built, some analysis should be made to show what the
solution of the problems occurred. It involving the comparison between the research
that had been done before it.
Facilities Required
The requirement of the resources for designing and developing the project are as
below:
1. Welding Machine.
2. Compressor
3. Tool Kit.
Cost Estimation
The estimated cost of this project will be around Rs. 12000. The exact details of the
cost is not known as the project is under process of manufacturing so the exact detail
will be available only after the completion of project.
