Syllabus for English 1113 and 1213 Pilot Group Meetings

Fall 2015
As a stipulation of the Course Innovation Grant awarded FYC to fund the pilot
project, pilot groups will meet for one hour each week during the fall 2015
and spring 2016. The goals of weekly pilot group meetings include:

Build community among pilot teachers


Share experiences teaching pilot curriculum
Preview upcoming lessons and units
Troubleshoot emerging curricular issues
Determine and communicate ways FYC can best support teaching pilot
curriculum
Provide feedback about the pilot curriculum based on teacher and
student experience
Gather formal and informal documentation for programmatic
assessment

The following syllabus was created based on our sense of the curriculum and
aspects or moments that call for collaboration and discussion. Weve built in
flex days to accommodate the unique needs and interests of each group.
