Just before the Pratts went to Japan this time, Pau1 was approached by
Jj Lee Mason, Executive Director of the Christian Restoration Association.
He stated that Norvai Campbe11, who has long served in charge of correspon
dence with the Christian Bible Institute was planning to retire. So they
were requesting Paul to accept the Job.
After prayerful consideration, he
accepted on condition that he could begin it in April after they return from
Japan. It requires, generally three days in midweek leaving the Lord's Day
free in which they can represent the Central Japan Christian Mission.

Just a few days of experience, Paul appreciates the many years of faithful
service Brother Norval has accomplished.

in the late evening of March 55th with chest pains. She was hospitalized
and spent three days undergoing tests and an angiogram. It was revealed that
one artery had a 75% blockage. Four cardio1ogists agreed that this alone

Dear fnends.
September, 1996
It has been some time since our last letter. We have continued to send out our monthly news
sheet, so that you our contributors are brought up- to- date. We thank you for maintaining this link
with us. Detailed plans and the date ofbuilding on to our Machida property are still on hold because
of the city's road schedule. However, Tim Turner and the Machida members are dreaming exactly
how to re-arrange the building at that time . Pray for them and for the trustees as they consult to
gether in the near future,
Many of you were able to meet Kensei Yokomizo when he visited with us in May and
June.He is the Minister ofthe Yokosuka Church which was started forty -six years ago by Ogden
Robbins who was stationed there with the U.S. Navy .Kensei met with him at Yuma. Arizona on
his visit. Some of you had not heard that Kensei's father had passed away on June 23rd . Kensei was
able to get a return flight in time to be there for the funeral. Our sincere sympathy to the family.
Miss Motoko Nakamura from our Sannobara Church is now in her second English study
course at Indiana University , She is planning toward majoring in Music at the Cincinnati Bible
Seminary in the near future. Her secret to defeating homesickness is a daily E-mail back to JapanOtherwise she is enjoying her Christian fnends at the Student Christian Fellowship there. We feel a
deep sense of gratitude to the Richie Hoffinans serving there.
Our ministry with the Christian Restoration Association is fulfilling and rewarding. The
Norval Campbells, Kathleen and I were thrilled to be able to visit the church at Weston, Ohio to
present a Ministerial diploma to Dan Homer on August 25th. He preached a fine sermon on that
day and has been supplying occasionally at area churches. He covered 140 lessons during the 14
months he was involved in the course. Lead on Dan! The Lord can use many good men. For others
who may be interested in the study, there are three other options beside that for ministers. They are
(I) Personal Bible Study,(2)Study for Teachers, and (3)for Elders and Deacons.
Kensei Yokomizo
Hideto Yoshii and Onga Christian Church are beginning a new outreach. Burdened for the
one million souls in Kita Kyushu City without a witness of New Testament Christianity they prayed
about it. The Uejimafamily who live in Kokura has opened its home for weekly services, Brother
Yoshii provides messages via audio tapes for them. The Uejimas then attend the evening services
and Mid-week services at the Onga Church. The entire group has been praying "the Lord of the
harvest to send out workers into His harvest'" Is the Lord speaking to anv of vou? This same church
now has one of its own, Tetsuya Obana, nephew of Brother Yoshii studying at Osaka Bible
Seminary. Still another nephew,Masato Yoshii is assisting the Al Juve family in Miyakonojo City,
Miyazaki Ken.
I have been busy with one week of Vacation Bible School and one week of camp besides
having six speaking engagements. I have an assignment at this year's EnVision '96 at Lexington,
Kentucky about Witnessing to Buddhists.Of course, Kathleen and I will be at our display booth
which is 621 Drop by for a visit .Thanks to good doctors and appropriate medicines our health is
improved.,for which we Praise the Lord. Let us know if you would like for us to visit your church.

We received an encouraging card from Koji Moriyama in August. He has a Christian home
with two children. For the past twenty-five years he has been teaching science in a Christian girls
school. He reminded me that I had baptized him in Motosu Lake at the foot of Mt. Fuji thirty years
ago. He expressed his thanks to God and to me His servant. Of course 1 remembered. I have
witnessed of his faith to many, too. While he was still seeking, he was studying diligently in order to
pass the entrance examination into prestigious Waseda Universiy. He promised God and me that he
would continue Bible reading and prayer and attending worship services during that study. And he
did not forget to give glory to God when he passed that exam either.. May God bless you and
yours,Koji.
Many of you remember Brother Bob Wittenmyer. He served C.J.C.M.in the very beginning
as our mailing secretary and more recently as Executive Director of the Trustees. Bob under-went
a seven by-pass surgery on June 25th at St. Vincent's Hospital in Indianapolis, Ind. As teacher of the
Adult class at Garfield Park Church he just missed two class sessions. We praise God for His healing
powers.
"The Lord is near to all who call upon Him; To all who call upon Him in truth".
