Thesis Topic and Outline - John Stanley, Spring 2015

Examining the Cross-cultural Dynamic between the American Church and the Indian
Student Diaspora in the U.S., using Mentoring as a Discipleship Tool.
Thesis Statement:
As U.S. sees an ever increasing influx of International students, especially from the
Indian sub-continent, coming to pursue an advanced degree: the need and the opportunity
for discipling has been on the rise too. This Thesis aims to explore the dynamics of using
Mentoring as a discipling tool, to form 1-on-1 or 1-on-many relationships between an
International student and an average American church goer.
