This question asks for a brief report on progress. As a guide you should use 700 words as a
maximum word limit.
The following are suggestions of the type of information you might include:

Success (or otherwise) in achieving the objectives specified in your previous report;
Any problems associated with fieldwork or other research (e.g. literature/archival work)
undertaken off site;
Have any or all access permissions been obtained?
Progress on the collection and/or analysis of data (including problems);
Problems arising from, or modifications to, research instruments.

Please provide details of training activities (including conferences, colloquia,
workshops) attended in the last 12 months (or since initial registration, if this is your first
annual report) including Postgraduate Training Scheme (PGTS) modules. Please also
provide the results of any assessed modules. You may attach a transcript of your PGTS
credits (if available).

Guidance Note: This meeting should be chaired by someone other than the students
supervisor (eg. the Departmental Postgraduate Student Director or another senior
academic). The students second supervisor should also attend the meeting, and have read
a sample of the students work. If work has been submitted as part of this process, the
sections below should be completed. An appropriate writing sample would be 5-10,000
