Two-axis programmable position controller for bending rolls

Recommended for repetitive jobs to be performed in several passes with high
repositioning accuracy required
Controlled axes: position of right-hand and left-hand bending roll. Both rolls are
simultaneously controlled and actuated at constant speed with slow-down
facility
The hydraulic unit is equipped with double pump (one for each cylinder) and
two-speed solenoid valves
Storage capacity: 99 programs with 30 steps per program
The operator's panel is equipped with a touch-screen display and on-screen
keyboard
Built-in flash memory slot to export programs/data
Available from model 302 up, for versions HV, HVB, EV, HV4, HV4B

PQ3

Three-axis programmable position controller (control of rolls rotation and

position of bending rolls)
Is not a CNC control: it is an affordable electronic controller featuring basic
control functions, useful for jobs that do not require high accuracy or consistency
All axes are simultaneously controlled at constant speed: moreover, the bending
axes are individually actuated by a dedicate hydraulic pump by and feature a
slow-down facility
No device to reset the rotary axis is fit
The profile feeding is referenced by a rotary encoder measuring the revolutions
of the upper shaft. Consequently, in case of slippage, the measure might be
unaccurate and/or unconsistent.
The hydraulic unit is equipped with double pump (one for each cylinder) and
two-speed solenoid valves
The operator's panel is equipped with a touch-screen display and on-screen
keyboard

VERSIONS WITH CONTROLLED AXES
CN3.1V Three-axis CNC control recommended to achieve curves included between
straight parts, or with multiple variable radii
Controlled axes: roll rotation (section feeding) and position of bending rolls. All
three axes are simultaneously controlled and actuated
The roll rotation is controlled at variable speed (100 speeds available)
The position of bending rolls is controlled at constant speed with slow-down
facility upon approach of the programmed target position
Each bending roll is actuated by an independent hydraulic circuit delivering
two positioning speeds: fast speed for approach to position and slow speed for
accurate and consistent reach of target positon
The section feeding is referenced by a rotary encoder coupled to a roller kept in
contact with the section by a pneumatic cylinder.
The initial alignment of the section (reset of the rotary axis) is automatically
done by a proximity detector. The profile can be loaded on the machine with no
need of manual alignment, that will be automatically done before the bending
program is run
The machine can be used in manual, semiautomatic and automatic mode
The CNC control comprises an Industrial PC running Windows XP/E
operating system and a dedicate application program to manage the operators
interface, plus a PLC equipped with I/O cards to manage the low-level machine
interface and connected to the PC via EtherCAT communication protocol.
The PC is equipped with a 15" LCD touch-screen video display
The storage capacity of bending programs is virtually unlimited (capacity of
hard disk); programs and data may be transferred to USB pendrive and
exported
Access to local and remote communication lines is provided via built-in LAN
connection and USB port to to activate the remote assistance service available
upon request
The application software to generate the bending programs is extremely userfriendly and easy to program: the shape to achieve is defined by dividing it into
single-radius elements and entering radius and developed length of each
element. Every profile used by the operator, along with its own springback
properties and related bending radii can be saved in a data base and
subsequently exploited every time the same profile is used again
Optional software add-on to import CAD drawings in dxf format

VERSIONS WITH CONTROLLED AXES
CN3-I Three-axis CNC control recommended for any type of complex curve
Controlled axes: roll rotation (section feeding) and position of bending rolls.
All three axes are simultaneously controlled and actuated All axes are
simultaneously controlled with CNC interpolation and closed loop control at
infinitely variable speed: at every program step the axes reach their target
position at the same time adapting the relevant speed.
This makes it possible to achieve in a very short length great variations of radius
smoothly joined with minimal distortion
Each bending roll is actuated by an independent hydraulic circuit equipped wit
high-dyamic proportional valves
Extra axes (up to 16) can be added and controlled in CNC-interpolated mode or
in PLC (non interpolated) mode
The section feeding is referenced by a rotary encoder coupled to a roller kept in
contact with the section by a pneumatic cylinder.

Notes:

Machines equipped with CNC control will no longer be supplied with the bending
radius meter in the standard equipment; since some functionalities of the CNC
require its use, users who don't already have it must purchase one separately.

Development of one bending program at our factory - if required - is included in

the price of CNC control: however, supply of the required material is at buyer's
charge.
