1. OBJECTIVE

The main objective of this method of statement is to provide

guidance for the execution Painting work for construction of
houses.

This method of statement covers inspection and quality
monitoring of construction activities for houses based on approved
engineering principles.

7. PROCEDURE
Pre-Cautions
7.1
The approved quality of paint as mentioned i.e. make, type or
color etc
would be used after approval from Engineer.
7.2
All oil, grease, dirt, dust, loose mil scale and any other
foreign substances
shall be removed from the surface to be painted.
7.3
Surfaces of stainless steel, aluminum, bronze and machined
surfaces
adjacent to metal work being cleaned or painted shall be
protected by
effective masking or other suitable means, during the
cleaning and painting
operations.
7.4
All work shall be done in a work man like manners, leaving
the finished free
from drips, redges, waves, laps brush marks.
7.5
All paints shall be applied under dry and dust free
conditions.
7.6
Surface shall be free from moisture at the time of painting.
7.7
All primary paints shall be applied by brushing.
Procedure

Surface Preparation for painting. i.e. rubbing, dusting,
chipping & sanding

After surface preparation one coat of primer shall be applied.
7.10
After applying primer, 2 coats of Putty (stucco) shall be
applied. Each coat of
Putty (stucco) shall be allowed to dry and harden
thoroughly.
7.11
After applying both coats of putty (stucco), the surfaces shall
be cleaned.
7.12
After cleaning of surfaces, two coats of Paints shall be
applied. The first coat
of the paint shall be applied immediately after cleaning.
7.13
Each coat of paint shall be allowed to dry or harden
thoroughly before the
Succeeding coat is applied.
