SKILLS

1. Bump/Pass
Make a flat surface with arms by placing one hand in palm of the other
Move feet to get under the ball with knees bent
Aim towards your target
Meet the ball with your arms (Do not swing your arms)
2. Setting
Elbows high by the ears
Make a diamond shape with your hands using your thumb and index fingers
Bend knees
Quick catch and push with your fingers
Extend your arms and wrist and flick to the ceiling

3. Underhand Serve (6th Grade)


Face your target
Hold the ball with your non striking hand (Do not toss the ball high in the air)
Step with the opposite foot and bring your striking hand back

As your hand comes forward, strike the ball with the heel of your hand
Follow through toward your target
4. Overhand Serve (6th grade option, 7th and 8th Grade must)
Face your target
Step forward with the foot opposite of the striking/serving hand
Toss the ball, 3-4 feet above your head and in front of the serving shoulder
Transfer weight from your back foot to your front foot while striking
Strike the ball with an open hand in one continuous motion following through
Keep your eyes on the ball (see actual contact take place)
