Content to be presented in lesson:

Proofreaders Marks The marks used to indicate changes are symbols, or shortcuts, that represent
corrections to errors and changes you want to make before you recopy your work.
Proofreaders Marks also help you by saving you time when retyping a rough draft.
Proofreading Marks for:
o Capitalizing a letter or word
o Making a letter or word lowercase
o Iserting a letter or word
o Adding a space
o Deleting a letter or word

Introduction to the Lesson/Hook:

As the students enter the classroom, I will remind them to type and pre-rank the goal for today using their
online January iNotebook.
Lecture/Class Discussion:
So today we will be reviewing copy/cut/paste which we went over a little bit last week.

Can someone tell me what copy is? Where do you find the copy button?
What is the shortcut for copy?

If you finish early, you have the option to complete make up work or you can go into microtype to
practice typing. You may begin!
Closure/Review of Content:

iNotebook Students will post rank the goal using their online January iNotebook

Evaluation/assessment of student learning:

My assessment of student learning will be informal for this lesson. As the students are working on
their QWERTY keyboarding report, I will walk around and observe their work and help them with any
questions or concerns they may have. I will also be checking students microtype lessons to make sure they
have completed the assignment with four checkmarks. Before students leave, I will have them sketch and label
the different types of indentations as an exit slip that I will be taking up at the end of each class period, along
with their printed and completed work that I will collecting for grading purposes. Students will also post rank
their goal using their online January iNotebook.

Modifications for exceptional learners:

I chose to select students who I know are more familiar with using word documents to sit next to
students I know may need a little more help. I understand that not every student will be able to complete
assignments as quickly as others and I also know that some may finish ahead of time. For my students who
finish early, I would give them the option to go into microtype to work on their keyboarding skills or to finish
any other late work that has not been turned in yet, since I do not give out homework for this class. For my
students who need accommodations, I will simply reduce the amount of work that I give to them.
