yundai Trust is the first of two Cape sized bulk


carriers with latest energy efficient systems
onboard for H&G Shipping. The vessel was delivered
from Korean shipyard Sungdong in May.
Hyundai Trust was constructed under the survey of
the Korean Resister of shipping and designed in
accordance with IACS common structural rules (CSR).
The vessel is mainly designed for carrying coal, iron ore
and grain in bulk. The BC-A notation is applied for
alternate loading in cargo holds 1, 3, 5, 7 and 9 with the
maximum cargo density of 3.0t/m3. The vessel features
a flush deck and has a bulbous bow, transom stern, open
water type stern frame, semi-balanced rudder and single
propeller driven by a slow speed diesel engine.
Hyundai Trust is constructed with a single skin in way
of the cargo holds with a double bottom and topside
tank. The cargo hold area is divided by vertical
corrugated transverse watertight bulkheads into nine
cargo holds. Topside wing tanks (P&S) can carry cargo
in holds except No.9 cargo hold and a part of No.8
cargo hold, which are used as water ballast tanks.
Hyundai Trust has had the added benefit of having a
Mewis Duct attached to its boss cap that allows the
vessel smoother propulsion through the water, reducing
the fuel oil consumption by 5% compared with other
vessels of the same class. Hyundai Trust has notations for
the international ballast water management plan
(IBWM) and is fitted with a ballast water control
system from HHI. The vessel also meets with the latest
environmental guidelines such as fuel oil protection,
inventory of hazardous materials for the ships recycling,

performance standard for protective coatings (PSPC),


and ENV notation, etc.
