RESOURCES AND PUBLIC ENGAGEMENT

Position Summary:
The resource assistant will provide broad support to the Resource & Public
Engagement Department in the areas of communications, fundraising, website
and public engagement. Taking day-to-day supervision and instruction from the
resource coordinator, this position is responsible to the director of resources and
public engagement, and will respond to the needs of various team members.
This position is based in Winnipeg, Manitoba. It runs from May 1 to Aug 31, 2016.
Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Organization Provide assistance to the department by organizing electronic
and physical holdings, including:
1.1.
Photograph Archive Review, cull and categorize photographs in
the electronic and physical file systems
1.2.
Worship Resources Review and categorize online worship
resources online to make them more user-friendly
1.3.
Media List Provide ongoing organization of the media contact list
1.4.
FundvisionUp-date database for various tours and review church list/update
websites/email information

2. Website Provide assistance to the webmaster in monitoring website content


and ensuring accuracy and consistency, including:
2.1.Populate Friend-to-Friend pages for growing projects
2.2.General website maintenance and clean-up
3. Resource Development Assist public engagement staff with the
development of educational resources, update tour guide, and general
organization of resources.
4. Social Media Assist public engagement and communications staff with social
media and blog research.
5. Other:
5.1.Assist with writing, photography and video work, as opportunities arise
5.2.Provide clerical support to team members as requested
5.3.Participate in relevant team meetings
5.4.Other tasks as assigned by the director of resources and public
engagement

5.5.Assist with July 31 Harvesting Hope world record threshing event.


Qualifications/Expectations:

Strong organizational skills


Computer and social media familiarity
Basic skills in communications as demonstrated by past experience or
education
Ability to work independently and maintain high levels of accuracy
Ability to work responsively
Desire to learn more about communications and public engagement work
at an international NGO
Interest in relief and development work
Must support the underlying mission and Christian identity of the
Foodgrains Bank
