Title: The Role of a Mentor II
On Screen

Narration
If you are thinking
about becoming a
mentor, or
participating in a
mentoring program,
there are some things
you should consider.
First are the
expectations. Mentors
are expected to be
professional and
respectful at all
times. However, they
are also expected to
be compassionate,
attentive and most
importantly involved
with their mentees
progress. Does this
sound like you? If so,
you are in luck
because there is a
great deal to gain
from mentoring. On
top of the personal
satisfaction you will
feel from making a
difference to your
mentee, you can also
gain leadership skills
and build your
professional network.
The skills you take
away from being a
mentor are
invaluable.

Programming Notes:

Words will highlight once the narrator mentions them.

Slide 6
Title: The Role of a Mentee
On Screen

Narration
Just as you have
expectations as a
mentor, there are
similar expectations
for your mentee. Your
mentee should be
respectful or you and
your time by being
attentive and
involved. Your
mentee will only
benefit if they are
inquisitive and open
to sharing their
thoughts and
concerns throughout
your mentoring
relationship.
If you mentee meets
these expectations
they will gain
valuable knowledge
and feedback. They
will also gain
encouragement and
confidence from their
mentor, which will
help them ultimately
succeed.

Programming Notes:
Words will highlight once the narrator mentions them.
