Describing Properties Of Hydrochloric Acid

Hydrochloric acid is a solution of hydrogen chloride in water. Hydrochloric acid is one of the
most corrosive of the non-oxidising acids. It is a strong acid. The molecular formula of Hydrochloric
acid is HCl. The Melting Point of hydrochloric acid is -114.24C. Hydrochloric acid has Boiling Point
of -85.06C, the Specific Gravity of hydrochloric acid is 1.2, the vapour density of hydrochloric acid
is 1.268, it is Non-flammable gas.

The subject of this graph is the relationship between the volume of NaOH vs conductivity
HCl. The horizontal axis represents is volume of NaoH, and the vertical axis represents is conductivity
of HCl. The line on the graph illustrates the relationship between volume of NaOH and conductivity of
HCl.
In the first volume of NaOH, that the quantity of conductivity HCl at 1,94. And in the two
volume of NaOH, it dropped by 1,85. Then in the three volume of NaOH, it descreased to 1,63. And
then in four volume of NaOH, It dropped to 1,496. This trend continued, and in the ten volume of
NaOH, the conductivity of HCl by 0,61. In the eleven volume of NaOH, I saw a small increase og
0,01. But in the twelve volume of NaOH, it remained constanf at 0,726. And in thirteen volume of
NaOH, the conductivity of HCl went increase of 0,832. This trend continued, and in the sixteen
volume of NaOH, the conductivity increase substantially by 1,03.
The conclusion that can be drawn from the graph is in the first volume of NaOH has the
highest conductivity of HCl, whereas in the ten volume of NaOH has the lowest conductivity of HCl
among the other volume of NaOH.

Homogeneous Mixture
There are many kinds of homogeneous mixture. They are classified by the behavior of the
phases, or substances that have been mixed.
Suspensions, when sand gets kicked up in a pond, it clouds the water. Since it has a greater
mass than water hence it sinks to the bottom and settles down, and is no longer mixed into the water.
This is an example of a suspension. Suspensions are heterogeneous mixtures that will eventually settle.
They are usually, but not necessarlly composed of phases in different states of matter. Italian salad
dressing has three phases: the water. The oil, and the small pieces of seasoning. The seasonings are
solids that will sink to the bottom, and the oil and water are liquids that will separate.
Colloid, what exactly is toothpaste? We cant exactly classify it by its state of matter it has a
definite shape and volume, like a solid. But then you squeeze the tube, and it flows almost like a liquid.
And then theres jelly, shaving cream, smoke, dough, and silly putty. These are examples of colloids. A
colloid is a heterogeneous mixture of two substances of different phases. Shaving cream and other
foams are gas dispersed in liquid. Jello, toothpaste, and other gels are liquid dispersed in solid. Dough
is a solid dispersed in a gas.
The tyndall effect distinguishes colloids from solution. In a solution, the particles are so tine
that they will not scatter light. This is not true for a colloid. If you shine light through a solution, the
beam of light will not be visible. It will be visible in a colloid. For instance, if you have ever played
with a laser pointer, you have seen the tyndall effect. You cannot see the laser beam in air(a solution),
but if you shine it into a mist, the beam is visible. Clouds look white (or gray), as opposed to blue
because of the tyndall effect- the light is scattered by the small droplets of suspended water.
