1) Term: (to) overrule

Definition: To supersede; annul; reject by subsequent action or decision. A


judicial decision is said to be overruled when a later decision, rendered by the
same court or by a superior court in the same system, expresses a judgment upon
the same question or law directly opposite to that which was before given.

Definition: Person who gets into a obligatory contract with one (or more) dealing

Definition: One courts review of another courts proceedings and judgments.
Typically, a higher court review of a lower court. Can also be a review of an
administrative bodys factual or legal findings. The reviewing court can even
award damages as well as uphold or reverse any order reviewed. 2. Supreme
Court authority to decide constitutionality of a law.

Definition: A clause inserted in a contract providing for compulsory arbitration in
case of dispute as to righis or liabilities under it; ineffectual if it purports to oust
the courts of jurisdiction entirely.

Definition: (in English law) An advocate; one who has been called to the bar. A
counselor learned in the law who pleads at the bar of the courts, and who is
engaged in conducting the trial or argument of causes. To be distinguished from
the attorney, who draws the pleadings, prepares the testimony, and conducts
matters out of court.
