See if you can find a script to the film, choose a character and try reading
their lines whilst the film is playing. Try to copy the actor's accent, and
intonation, really act it out. (You can find lots of film and TV scripts on the
internet). Doing this with friends is a hoot. In fact, once you've watched the
film, try acting the whole thing out with friends, record yourselves doing
some short scenes and stick it on YouTube.

Try to watch a film with friends, it's much more fun that way.
Choose a role and act it out.
As you watch the film scene by scene make a note of the main new
vocabulary, especially new phrases and words that crop up again and again.

If you have a Play Station the "SingStar" series is really good fun. Have

Twitter
Twitter is a social networking site that demands precision of
expression. Why is that? It's because each post or "Tweet" you can
make is limited to 140 characters. Therefore, you must be concise in
your messaging.

With Twitter, you send your Tweets to your Friends or Followers, and
you can Follow other people who interest you, and read their Tweets,
which are also short. In this way Twitter helps you improve your
English reading skills too. You can read a variety of short messages on
a myriad of subjects. In this way, you learn new words, turns of
phrase, and jargon, which all helps you build your English vocabulary.

Moreover, you listen, which means you learn English words and
phrasing from others. Of course, you can text on Skype, which lets you
practise your English writing skills just as you do on other social
networking sites, but its main strength is using it for voice or (if you're
brave) and video chats (if you're really, really brave). There are even
teachers on Skype who offer traditional English lessons and there are
conversational groups that meet more informally.
