For all classes, I write all names on the board on the left :

+1 for trying, for giving good answer; + 2 /3 if full sentences

-1 for wrong behavior, talking in Chinese, forgetting books
Between quizzes, make them switch their quizzes and they check for each
other while you are writing the correction on the board. Insist on common
mistake like missing e silent at the end of words
Class A : from 2pm to 3pm
The book : the babys cup
7 kids, sweet age .
Marcus : talkative and naughty, Teacher Nicole knows his behavior, do not
hesitate to yell at him. He did English kindergarten , he knows more
English than he shows
Tim : good kid, eager to learn but too much talkative. Needs to be called to
mind
Elsa : Excellent student
Amber : good student just lazy. Force her to write if she does not want to
Olivia : good student, too shy and has some difficulties needs
encouragement ( low self confident)
Brian : good student, tries to improve , he has difficulties with phonics..
just correct him and he will repeat
Jeremy : good student, take your time with him .. he knows but needs time
to think and say
For this class, write the sentence on the board, with your finger read with
them
2nd times, ask them to read ( they can get point, they will be excited that is
good ^^)
write 2 column with all the words and the previous (if you need more
words)
then give them a paper each, tell them to write their name :
tell them : write from 1 to 10 , they know this sentence and they will
tell you : 1 to 1 , 1to 5 to joke with you ^^ usually I say Ok, 1 to 20
and they say ok ok 1 to 10 ^^ --) that gives a good atmosphere since they
do not like quizzes lol
Repeat each words many times as needed, they are beginners. At least
make the quiz twice They will tell you the number needed to be
repeated if they say it in Chinese, say back In English! I do not
understand until they say it ^
Take back the quiz, check quickly for those who get 10/10 , no need to
make them repeat the quiz : congratulate them and give them a
game/worksheets/coloring ( look under the table, I left many)

If many of them have less than 5/10, repeat the quiz until they get higher.
They need to visualize and associate Listening/writing .
If none of them get 10/10 but they have more than 5/10, make them write
their mistakes only and take them back.
After that, give them games/worksheets, walk around , try to talk to them,
ask questions : what is it? ( pointing the picture in the worksheet)
They tend to talk in chinese.it is ok, just keep saying : no chinese , to
make stop few moments.

Class B: from 3pm to 4pm

The book : 6 robots
Write the pages on the board,
Ask if everyone has a book otherwise -1
If many of them do not have it, ask on kid to make copies and show them
the pages
They understand the basics sentences, the girls (Regent/Ariel) on your
right(1st line) are very good , also the 2 boys at the end of the class
(Michael/Chris). You can ask them to make copies if needed.
Ask them to Read, watch if ALL OF THEM are reading page by page,
stopping between for asking the meaning of some words good
answers/tried answer = +1
If someone does not read, ask him/her to read the page alone.
While you are explaining words, I suggest to write it down on the board
in case, someone is not following. Sometimes, they underline words
instead of listening to me
After that, quiz with many words on the board
The same: write from 1 to 10 1st time, they can use the book but they
do know now all words are on the board.
2nd time, erase the board, ask them but not the same order!
3rd time if you have time and they did not did well the 2nd time
if you have time, ask everyone to read a page
2 kids arrived late : Anna and willy but they are excellent, I never had to
explain them something.
Class C: from 4pm to 5pm

The book : Dave the cop , Hansel Gretel

Write the pages on the board,
Ask if everyone has a book otherwise -1
If many of them do not have it, ask on kid to make copies and show them
the pages
They all understand the basics sentences, a dynamic class willing to learn
Ask them to Read, watch if ALL OF THEM are reading page by page,
stopping between for asking the meaning of some words good
answers/tried answer = +1
If someone does not read, ask him/her to read the page alone.
While you are explaining words, I suggest to write it down on the board
in case, someone is not following. Sometimes, they underline words
instead of listening to me
The same: write from 1 to 10 1st time, No book , they are good enough
they have easily more than 5/10.
2nd time, time to mix up the words and add new words!
They have a great potential to remember words, and learn new ones.
if you have time, ask everyone to read a page
Note: one of the kids, Scott sitting last line on your right/to the wall He
has bipolarity behaviors, do not force him or push him to do something, if
he cries, ask one of the kids to call teacher Nicole ; she knows how to
handle him.

Class D: from 5pm to 6pm

The book : Read and Retell,
Write the pages/unit on the board,
Ask if everyone has a book otherwise -1,
Ask if someone can share a book, or ask them to share with their closest
classmates.
You will have 14 kids, well mixed girls/boys all talkative, need to be
called in mind
No problem with the behaviors, except with Jacob ( the most talkative) but
teacher Nicole is taking care of, currently . Another boy, Lawrence is a
good/shy student and sometimes the others boys bully him, ask them

to stop or to go out. They will stop automatically. Teacher Nicole knows the
situation and she handled it last time.
Quiz:
If review read with them, then quiz
The same: write from 1 to 10 1st time, No book , they are good enough
they have easily more than 5/10. AND FULL SENTENCES from the unit
rewiewed , their spelling is good so they need to go up on their level
Ask them to switch, and correct on the board. Insist on the mistakes they
made by looking around the class.
2nd time, the same sentences, changing the order
Class 5: from 6pm to 7pm
The book : Read and Retell, Enjoy reading
Write the pages/ unit on the board,
Well behaved students, willing to learn.
Ask them to read, ask question about the text,
No quiz for them but essay. Their level is close to our 3rd/4th grade , so you
can ask 1 question leading to an essay. Last time, for Christmas, I
explained to them the meaning of Christmas, Santa Claus and ask them
to write a story like a fairy.
Of course, you need to prepare them before. :
For the essay:
Find a place ,a time where the story takes place
Define the number and the relation of your character
Define a problem and a solution
( I gave them 2 sheets well explained)
They will ask how to spell words while they are writing, write on the board
for everyone
Easy to interact with them, do not hesitate to propose ideas.

Thank you for subbing me again!!!
