METFLOW CONTROLS PVT LTD: Hubli was established in 1997 to

manufacture industrial valves viz. ball valves, plug valves and industrial
pumps viz. ISO pumps and ANSI pumps. The group ofcompanies is located in
industrial area, Hubli, is one of the biggest industrial centre in the Karnataka,
India.
Met flow controls are a unit of SCH group of companies and an ISO 9001;
2000 certified and IBR approved company. The company engaged in
manufacturing of industrial ball valves, globe valves swing check valves
butter fly valves and forged steel valves of *150.300.600.800and 900 which
are developed at its own R&D facilities managed by expert in the field .
Having successfully done so it is now engaged in the development of higher
class valves of 1500 and 2500 class.

SWOT of Apex Auto Limited.
STRENGTHS:

1. Technically sound task force led by Mr. S.S.Hiremath [chief manager

(plant)], who is considered the brain child behind the development of
buckets in India. Especially, the buckets for Tata - Hitachi model
excavators.
2. Being a new concern set separately from the rest of the Jamshedpur crowd,
the company enjoys a fresh image of commitment and timely delivery of
quality goods as against the reverse fame maintained by its competitors.

3. The Escort k-10 crane is an added strength to the company as no other

company in the industrial belt has a crane leave alone a crane of such
quality. This helps maintain better relations with MFCL also as they
usually require the crane once in a while. It also acts as a source of revenue
and mostly clears off the labour dues by external work within the industrial
area only.

4. Heavy quality checks are strength, in-fact more a cause for strength of
quality.

Each level quality checks help reduce the risk of rejects and

1. Being a new unit the concern has still to strengthen its material and other

2. Absence of a few machines (such as bending, weight scale) in-house can

also be considered a weakness, as a major part of funds are lost to
outsourcing of job works.

OPORTUNITIES:

1. The tax and other monetary and fiscal benefits offered by the government
currently are another opportunity available to our concern. Numerous
benefits are offered as Hubli is industrially backward areas with more than
ninety percent of the industries are sick units.
2. A long term future opportunity is the fact that China is setting up the
largest steel plant in the world which would solve the problem of shortage
of steel and bring out a level of stability in the industry.
3. There is great opportunity also as one of the competitors m/s Model
Projects is not in a position of manufacturing the buckets and supply them
in time to MFCL. Also another competitor for counterweights is not able
to fulfill monthly schedule commitments to MFCL due o material
shortage. This is one of the greatest opportunities for Met-flow Controls
Limited.
4. Also the growth of the industry as a whole is a major opportunity due to
the high level of increasing demand for the final product. Also the industry

seems to be in the biggest boom it has seen till date which is expected to
last at least another ten years minimum.
5. Inability to met flow limited to supply material (counterweights) within
schedule and also after it, causing extra dispatch from Met-flow Controls
Limited every month over schedule is another major opportunity to cash in
on and increase the share of business on completion of a year of business
performance.

THREATS:

1. Another threat possible to the firm if the changing government policies,

which keep shifting base almost every fiscal year or during the
deceleration of the budgets. Fiscal and monetary policies based on the
uncertain political conditions of the country are also a major threat to the
firm as being part of the industry.

2. A direct threat to the firm as also seen clearly is that of well-established

competition. Foul play and power imposing by pre-existing competitors is
a major threat which has to be carefully studied and avoided or met face
on.
