LARES TREK TO MACHU PICCHU 4D3N

Prices are based on the train that departs from Aguas Calientes at 21:50. If you wish to
book an earlier train, please check the additional prices and confirm availability at the
time of booking.

Day 1: Cusco - Calca - Lares (hot springs) Huacawasi


The bus leaves Cusco at around 6:00. Its a scenic drive through the Sacred Valley, passing
through Pisac, stopping after 1:00hr for about 40 minutes in the village Calca. Where we will
have the chance to visit the Local market to buy last minute things and use the bathroom.
When arriving at Lares we will visit the hot springs where you will enjoy the hot water while
our chef prepares the buffet lunch. After lunch we will start our hike towards the first campsite
in Huacawasi 3600mt. During 3 hours you will walk gradually uphill, good training for
following day, the day we reach the highest point of the trek. The first campsite will be at our
horsemens house, who will join us on the trip. This is the perfect opportunity to know about
the area, local customs and Andean traditions. At arrival your tents will be ready before
having dinner.

Day 2: Huacawasi Sondor Paso Sacsayllame Aruray Cocha Yurak Cocha


Pucara Yanahuara.
Early in the morning we will be welcomed by locals in traditional clothing, on their way to
daily activities. After buffet breakfast we will start hiking towards the highest point, the pass of
Sacsayllame at 4400mt. The hike will take about 4 hours and will be very steep uphill. During
this trek you will enjoy stunning views of the surrounding mountains, agricultural lands and
breathtaking views. Keep in mind once we reach great heights the weather can be very cold.
After reaching the highest point we will descend and pass Aurora Cocha before having lunch.
You will have good chances to bounce back while our chef prepares the buffet lunch. Next
we will descend further through a forest where you will see the Queuas typical three from
Peru. This walk will take about 1 hour before reaching our campsite at Pucara - Yanahuara
where everything will be ready for you before the buffet dinner.

Day 3: Pucara Yanahuara - Ollantaytambo - Aguas Calientes


After buffet breakfast, pick up and transport to Ollantaytambo are included, when in
Ollantaytambo your tour leader will describe the village a little bit for you, Pinkulluna
mountain (sightseen) it is an optional hike for magnificent views and good dose of Inca
history, all before board the 12:58pm connection train to Aguas Calientes, reaching our final
destination of the day, the town of Aguas Calientes where we will have lunch and spend the
night in a comfy Hostel.

Day 4: Aguas Calientes - Machu Picchu - Aguas Calientes Cusco


After breakfast at hostel it is time for the highlight Machupicchu, two options (in order to
reach MP) you can walk at 4:30am "the backpacker option" 1:30hrs walking from Aguas
Calientes or you can take the 25 min Bus ride optional buy tickets on the spot $12usd each
way. We recommend the bus up and walk downhill to Aguas Calientes after visiting
Machupicchu. In Machupicchu your tour leader will describe all there is to know about this
magnificent site, main facts about the Inca society, the andean gods, the location and how
Inca built this beautiful site it the most impossible place, After the guided tour around the
archaeological site, you will have enough time to enjoy Machu Picchu and Huayna Picchu or
Machupicchu Mountain on your own (only if you have purchased passes far in advance),
remember machupicchu closes at 17:00pm and the train back departs at 21:50pm(if you
want to stay on base price option), Usually travelers they finish around noon for lunch if the
case return to AC town, walking or bus when there have time for lunch.

Way back mechanism, train 21:50pm will conduct you once again to Ollanta after 1:45hrs
ride reception and van ride 1:30hrs included back to cusco arrival time 1:30am.
