Reign of Man Print and Play Instructions

What youll need: A printer, some card stock, a pair of scissors, (optionally some glue) and pieces.
Step 1: Gather together sets of 24 color coded icons (different colors or shapes). These are your
armies. I didnt include them because using little pieces of paper for armies is, well, kind of fiddly.
Each player will need exactly 24. This is important because youre not meant to have endless
amounts of armies.
Youll also need one token to pass as the command chit.
Step 2: Print everything in this PDF. The rules and instructions can be on regular paper, but youll
want to use cardstock for the rest.
Step 3: Cut everything up. Youll need to piece together the board as it is too big for a normal sheet.
Optionally, you cant print the final pages, which are the card backs, and then glue them together.
Spray adhesive is magically useful in this effort.
Step 4: Read the one page of rules and begin!

Starting the Game


Playtheen reboardfor35playergames.Foldthematinhalfand
playonehemispherefor2playergames.Shuetheworldeventcards
andplacethemneartheboard.Eachplayertakesanempirematand
setoficons.Placearmyicons,blacksideup,oneveryadvancementcategoryexcept
therstineachcategory.Rolldicetodeterminewhowillpickanempirerst.Placeanarmytokenon
everyterritoryinyourstar ngempire,faceuptorevealyourcolor.Ifyouplacelast,youstartwiththe
commandtokenandtakeyourturnrst.Playproceedsclockwisefromthecommandplayer.

Gameplay and Turn Order


Atthebeginningofeachround,thecommandplayerwilldrawaworldeventcardandputitinthenextavailableslot,pushing
theplayedcardstotheright.Ifthereisacardinthethisturnslot,ittakeseect.Thentheroundbeginswiththeturnofthe
commandplayer.Whenitgetsbacktothecommandplayer,theypassthecommandchitclockwise.Thatnextplayeristhe
commandplayerforthatturn.
Eachturnyoulltakeoneac onfromthoseunlockedonyourempiremat.Somedevelopmentsandworldeventsallowyou
mul pleac ons.Atrank1inallcategories,youcaneitherunlockthenextrankinacategoryofyourchoosing,raiseanarmyon
aterritoryyouoccupyormobilizearmiesonasingleterritory.Notethatasyouadvanceineachcategoryyouunlockaddi onal
op onsforyourturnaswellassomepassiveabili es.Placethetokenyouremovedinfrontofyou.Itcannowberaisedasan
army.
Onceyouvetakenyourturn,thenextplayerwilltaketheirturn.Onceeveryonetakesaturn,passthecommandtokenle .

MOVING and COMBAT Moveyourarmiesbymobilizingoneormoreofyourterritories.Oneachterritoryyoumobilize,you
canmovesomeorallthearmiestheretoadjacentterritories.Theydonthavetomovetogethertothesameterritory.Asyou
advanceyourmilitaryyoullbeabletomobilizemul pleterritories,butyoumaynotmobilizethesameterritorytwiceinthe
sameac on.A erallyourmobiliza oniscomplete,ifyoumovedarmiesintoanenemyterritory,youmustresolvecombat
beforetakinganyextraac onsorendingyourturn.Combatisresolvedbyrepeatedlyrollingdiceagainsttheenemyplayer.Roll
1dieperarmy,atthesame me.Youcanrolltwodiceatonce,unlessapassiveabilityallowsyoutorollthree.Compareyour
rollednumbersfromthehighesttolowest.Tiesareignoredunlessotherwisespeciedbyapassiveability,andhighernumbers
destroy1armyicon.Onesidemayrollmoredice,theyjusthavemorechancestorollahighenoughnumbertodestroythe
otherarmy.Noretrea ngyoumustrolleachcombattoconclusion.Con nueun lnoterritorieshavemorethanoneforces
