INTERMEDIATE 3 ALP PROJECT

------------------------------- CRUCIAL INFORMATION ABOUT YOUR EVALUATION ---------------------

3 total possible points:


1pt for use of appropriate visual materials (PPT, wallcharts / papelografos, pictures, prezi, videos,
etc)
1pt for correct use of grammar and vocabulary in a sufficient number of examples. (at least 15
examples for each person- included in your presentation, combining grammar, vocabulary and
expressions from each unit of your textbook.
1pt for adequate fluency and pronunciation according to your level.

It's crucial that your presentation includes the new grammar, vocabulary and expressions
covered during this course (see the language summary available in your book for more reference).
Your presentation is also evaluated according the use of complete ideas and creativity on how you
elaborate and present your project as well the development of the materials to be used.
Include a variety of examples using the new grammar and vocabulary used during this month.
Individual: 2 to 3 minutes max. In pairs: 4 to 5 minutes max. In groups: 6 to 7 min. max.
Recommendations:

Practique su proyecto con anticipacin, y si es posible grabe su voz para poder alcanzar una
proyeccin de voz adecuada.
Los avances de su proyecto pueden ser presentados al profesor para revisin (en limpio,
tipeado) hasta 48 horas antes de la fecha de su proyecto.
Evite la monotona en su presentacin, use una variedad de oraciones donde incluya material
cubierto en cada unidad del texto.
Option 1: (for individual or pair presentations) (pair presentations could also be done as a
conversation between doctor and patient)

Students should offer a presentation on modern treatments for traditional illnesses and
other health conditions. (Ex. Zika virus, AIDS, Diabetes, Skin Cancer, etc).
After you choose the disease you want to present about, please inform your teacher to avoid
repetition of the same topic by other groups).
Students should offer information on how the treatments are conducted, as well as the
description of the benefits for the patient, and other relevant details.
Option 2: (for individual or pair presentations)

Students should offer a presentation on a social issue of their choice. (crime / gangs /
bullying / etc..)
In the presentation students must describe the problem and offer solutions.
Students can also present on social issues affecting a local city or a different country,
offering a variety of solutions, as well.

Option 3: (for pair or group presentations)


Students give a live news report (in the style of CNN) about an epidemic that has broken out in a large city

in the world. The epidemic could be based on real events such as the Ebola virus or Asian Flu, or it could
be inspired by science fiction in the style of Walking Dead or any similar plot. Students should describe
the event(s) in details to the audience, the symptoms and refer to what citizens can do in response to this
epidemic. Visual resources related to this topic are highly advised due to the nature of the situation.
