Facts to know about Piles and the scope

of homeopathy treatment in piles.

What are they?

Piles, also known as hemorrhoids, are swollen veins and muscle around your anus or in your
anal canal. Your anal canal is a short, muscular tube with blood vessels that connects your
rectum (back passage) with your anus. Piles can develop when this tissue around the rectal
vain becomes swollen, possibly as a result of straining on the toilet. Sometimes, piles can be
painful and bleed if the rectal vain get ruptured.
Piles are also common during and after pregnancy. They may develop due to changes in the
hormones (chemicals) in your body and the increased pressure in your abdomen (tummy).
They usually get better once the baby is born.
You can get piles at any age, but theyre most common in people aged between 45 and 65.
Its difficult to know exactly how many people get piles

There are of two types piles:

1: Internal Piles : Internal piles are usually not painful but these bleed when they are
irritated such as during the passage of hard stools. They can be classified into four
grades:

2: External Piles: External

piles present as a swelling
outside the anus. Its create
irritation and itching. These
can be painful sometimes and
usually do not bleed.

Internal Hemorrhoids are Classified into

Four Grades:
Grade 1- there are small inflammations,
usually inside the lining of the anus.
They are not visible
Grade 2 - larger than grade 1
hemorrhoids, but also inside the anus.
When passing a stool, they may get
pushed out, but return unaided
Grade 3 - often called 'prolapsed
hemorrhoids'; these appear outside the
anus. The patient may feel them
hanging out. They can be pushed back
in if the patient presses with their finger
Grade 4 - these cannot be pushed back
in and need to be treated by a doctor.
They are large and stay outside the anus
all the time.

Who gets piles?

Piles can occur at any age, but are more common in older people. They affect
both men and women. In fact, most people suffer from piles at some time in their
life, but usually they are nothing more than a temporary problem. Many experts
believe that they are caused by continuous high pressure in the veins of the body,
which occurs because humans stand upright.
They are particularly common in
pregnancy because of the additional
pressure from the baby, and because
of hormonal changes. Sometimes they
result from straining hard to pass
faces, which is more likely if you do
not eat enough fiber, or lifting heavy
weights. They are not caused by sitting
on hot radiators or cold, hard surfaces,
or by sedentary jobs. A family history,
as with many other health-related
problems, is frequently found and is
likely to be a significant risk factor for
developing piles.

Yes , homeopathic treatments can help to treat piles.

Why does the skin around my anus get itchy

when I have piles?
Answer :
Itching is often a symptom of piles. The itching occur due to the
inflammatory changes that develops around the swollen rectal vain by
the contact of faeces while passing stool.

How do I know its just piles?

Piles often cause bleeding, but the blood tends to be on the paper or the pan, or
on the edge of your stool. It tends to be bright red and you may also pass mucus.
The bleeding of piles is often linked to pain, itching or soreness just inside your
bottom or on the skin around it. You may also notice a lump protruding from your
bottom. One kind of pile (called an external pile ) can cause a sudden, intensely
painful lump just outside your anus. The pain usually settles on its own within 2-3
days.

When do I need to worry?

Its always important to take notice of bleeding while passing
stool, because it can be an early warning sign of cancer of the
bowel. If youve never had piles before, you need to get it
checked by your doctor even if the symptoms are typical of piles
(see above). You should also see your doctor quickly if:
The blood is dark red or blackish
The blood is mixed in with the stool
The bleeding persists and you dont have any pain, lump or itch
Your stools have become looser, if youre going more often, for
more than a couple of weeks
Youve also gone off your food or lost weight

What can I do to prevent or treat piles?

High-fibre diet: If you aim to eat a high-fibre diet and drink plenty of water
(between six and ten glasses a day), you should be able to keep your faeces soft,
which will help you pass them without straining. Sometimes your doctor or dietician
will recommend a fibre supplement to help you.
Avoid straining on the toilet: Try not to strain (push too hard) when you go to the
toilet; it is better to try to pass stool only when your body is ready to do so.

What should I do if I notice bleeding

from my rectum after being treated
for piles?
Because piles are not always cured after just one
treatment, the symptoms might be caused by
the piles recurring. You might have been given a
follow-up treatment, If, however, you develop
bleeding many weeks after your hemorrhoids
have successfully been treated, you should not
automatically assume that your piles have
recurred. Bleeding from or around the rectum
can also be caused by a variety of other
conditions, and you should consult your doctor
if you are in doubt.

symptoms associated with it such as pain, bleeding, itching, etc. The point to be
emphasized is that the relief of symptoms is obtained with absolute gentleness and
without invasion or surgery of any kind. Besides that there is chance of reappearance in
future after surgery too, since surgery does not focus on the main drivers such as
