PARISH FINANCES Weekend: 16th 17th April : Loose 690.03. Envelopes 289 Standing
Orders 446. Total 1,425.03 The retiring collection for Priests Training Fund amounted to
552.28. Many, many thanks for your generosity. THIS weekend there will be a retiring
collection for the people of the Ukraine, as requested on Low Sunday by Pope Francis, who
announced a humanitarian initiative in favour of the people of the Ukraine in the form of a special
collection in the Churches of Europe on Sunday, 24th April.
GIFT AID OFFERTORY ENVELOPES For the next couple of weeks could ALL those who have
envelopes please write your name on the envelope. Also please could those who have the
following box numbers collect their boxes which are in the Sacristy in Our Lady of Peace Church.
Numbers 7, 19, 66, and 77. If you have picked up box number 68 in error please can you return to
Yvonne. If you are a UK taxpayer, you could add 25p to every 1 that you give to your Parish (at
no cost to yourself) through Gift Aid. If you require any further information please ring Yvonne

DECEASED Please pray for the following who died recently:
Brian Cashman RIP, his Requiem Mass will be in Our Lady of Peace on Tuesday, 26th April at
12.45pm, followed by cremation at Slough Crematorium.
Eugene ODriscoll RIP. Eugenes body will be received into Our Lady of Peace on Wednesday,
27th April at 6.00pm and his Requiem Mass will be on Thursday, 28th April at 12noon, followed by
burial at Slough Cemetery.
Patrick Anthony Dixon RIP, his Funeral Service will be in St Andrews on Friday, 29th April at
12.45pm, followed by burial at Slough Cemetery.
May their souls and the souls of all the faithful departed rest in peace. Amen

WORLD YOUTH DAY (WYD) cake sale! The Youth Evangelization Team are selling cakes this
Sunday, 24th April, at both Masses in Our Lady of Peace and St Andrews, to raise money for
their WYD pilgrimage (820 per person; with 11 people representing our Parish). Please support
them.

CONFIRMATION PROGRAM For those who have enrolled for the
Sacrament of Confirmation, the sixth Session will be on Tuesday, 26th April
from 7.00pm to 8.00pm and will be held in ST ANDREWS The Sacrament of
Confirmation will be conferred by Bishop Peter this year on Tuesday, 21st
June at 7.30pm in Our Lady of Peace.

FIRST HOLY COMMUNION The final preparation and rehearsal


(with compulsory attendance and parent to attend with child) is on
Monday, 25th April at 7.00pm in OUR LADY OF PEACE
CHURCH. First Holy Communion goods will be on sale. Please
continue to pray for our children so that they will grow in their
appreciation of the sacraments of Confession and Holy Communion.
SPIRIT AND LIGHT WORSHIP evening will be held at St Andrews on Friday, 29th April at
8.00pm. The evening, led by Fr Andy, will begin with a teaching and a reflection followed by
praise and prayer. All welcome. Please call Millie on 07957 594646 for further information.
CAFOD Join us for an afternoon of input, reflection and prayer focusing on Blessed Oscar
Romero in this Year of Mercy. Saturday, 7th May, 12.15pm 3.30pm at Sacred Heart Parish
Centre, 5 Beaudesert, Leighton Buzzard LU7 1HZ. Julian Filochowski (Romero Trust) and
Deacon David Curtis will lead the day. Please bring a shared lunch. To book a place and to let

dpurfield@cafod.org.uk CAFOD are looking for volunteers who would be interested in being
trained up by CAFOD to deliver in their parish and other parishes either one or a few of the
following: Laudato Si reflection sessions. Campaign events. Speaking at Mass sessions. All
expenses will be met. It is a wonderful opportunity to share and empower others. If you would be

CATHOLIC WOMEN'S LEAGUE INVITATION Monday, 9th May at 7.00pm, we will be
celebrating our WUCWO service followed by Wine and Cheese, and welcome all the ladies of
the Parish to join us.
A DAY WITH MARY National Shrine of Our Lady Walsingham on Sunday, 22nd May. The day
begins at 11.40am in the Basilica and concludes at the village of Walsingham. Further details
please see poster in Church porches.
BLESSING OF THE GRAVES This will take place at Slough Cemetery on Sunday, 22nd May at
2.00pm, and is an opportunity for us to pray for our deceased loved ones buried there.
VOCATIONS WEEKEND for young women (20s and 30s) Theme: Discerning God's Call in my
life. Dates: 27th - 29th May. Location: Broadstairs, Kent. The weekend is organised by the
sisters, Faithful Companions of Jesus (FCJ). There will be input from the FCJ sisters on different
aspects of vowed life, and time for prayer, reflection and discussion with other young women
who are also considering a vocation to religious life. It is an opportunity to live community life for
a weekend and meet some sisters!
