To reduce the risk of battery explosion, follow these instructions and those published by
the battery manufacturer and the manufacturer of any equipment you intend to use in the
vicinity of a battery. Review cautionary markings on these products and on the engine.

Do not disassemble the Portable Power.
Take it to a qualified service professional
if service or repair is required. Incorrect
assembly may result in fire or electrical shock.
Do not use the Portable Power to jump a
vehicle while charging the internal battery.
Do not recharge the Portable Power with a
damaged extension cord.
The Portable Power gets hot during
charging and must have proper ventilation.
Do not set the Portable Power on flammable
materials, such as carpeting, upholstery,
paper, cardboard, etc.
Place the Portable Power as far away from
the battery being jumped as the cables
will permit.
Do not expose the Portable Power to rain
or snow.
Never place the Portable Power directly
above battery being jumped.

To prevent arcing, never allow the clamps to

touch together or to contact the same piece
of metal.
Use of an attachment not recommended or
sold by the jump starters manufacturer may
result in damage to the unit or personal injury.
Never operate the Portable Power if it is
damaged.
If someone else uses the Portable Power,
ensure they are well informed on how to
use it safely, and have read and understood
the operating instructions.
The Portable Power is NOT designed to be
installed as a replacement for a vehicle
battery.
Use ONLY on vehicles, boats and garden
tractors powered with a 12V DC battery
system.
If the engine fails to start after the
recommended number of attempts,
disconnect the unit and look for other
problems that may need to be corrected.
Use the Portable Power for jump starting
lead-acid batteries ONLY. Do not use for dry
cell batteries that are commonly used with
home appliances.

PERSONAL SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

Wear complete eye protection and
protective clothing when working near
lead-acid batteries. Always have someone
nearby for help.
Have plenty of fresh water, soap and baking
soda nearby for use, in case battery acid
contacts your eyes, skin, or clothing. Wash
immediately with soap and water and seek
medical attention.
If battery acid comes in contact with eyes,
flush eyes immediately for a minimum 10
minutes and get medical attention.

Neutralize any acid spills thoroughly with

baking soda before attempting to clean up.
Remove all personal metal items from your
body, such as rings, bracelets, necklaces
and watches. A battery can produce a short
circuit current high enough to weld a ring to
metal, causing a severe burn.
Never smoke or allow a spark or flame in
the vicinity of the battery or engine.

CHARGING THE INTERNAL BATTERY OF THE PORTABLE POWER

IMPORTANT! CHARGE IMMEDIATELY
AFTER PURCHASE, AFTER EACH USE
AND EVERY 30 DAYS, TO KEEP THE
PORTABLE POWERS INTERNAL
BATTERY FULLY CHARGED AND
PROLONG BATTERY LIFE.
CHECKING THE LEVEL OF THE
INTERNAL BATTERY
To check the internal batterys charge
status, Press the Select button until the
Battery % LED lights. The Digital Display
will show the batterys percent of charge.
Charge the internal battery if the display
shows it is under 100%.
NOTE: The internal batterys percent of
charge is most accurate when the jump
starter has been disconnected from all
devices and charging sources for a few hours.
CHARGING THE INTERNAL BATTERY
Charge the internal battery for the Portable
Power using an extension cord (not included).
NOTE: Use of an improper extension cord
could result in a risk of fire and electric shock.
1. To charge, flip the AC connector on
the back of the unit DOWN and plug in an
18 AWG or larger extension cord.
2. Plug the extension cord into a 120VAC
electrical wall outlet.
3. While the jump starter is charging, the
marching dashes
will show on the
digital display. When the internal battery
is fully charged, the display will showioo.
Complete charging may take up to 72 hours.
4. When the internal battery is fully charged,
the charger will automatically go into
maintain mode and maintain the battery

at full charge without damaging it. When

in maintain mode, the Battery % LED will
pulse, as long as there is an AC cord
connected to the charging port.
5. Charge the jump starter as soon as
possible after use.
CHARGING THE INTERNAL BATTERY
WHILE DRIVING
You may also charge the internal battery
while driving, using a male-to-male
charger cable (part number 94500109
not included).
IMPORTANT: DO NOT CHARGE INTERNAL
BATTERY FOR MORE THAN 30 MINUTES
OR LEAVE THE BATTERY UNATTENDED. IT
COULD EXPLODE, CAUSING PROPERTY
DAMAGE OR PERSONAL INJURY.
1. Make sure the car is running.
2. Insert one end of the accessory cable into
the 12V DC power outlet.
3. Insert the other end of the accessory
cable into the vehicles accessory outlet
(lighter socket).
NOTE: The Battery % LED does not
operate during this method of charging.
Using this method to charge the battery
overrides the maintain mode and the battery
can be overcharged.
4. Monitor the progress of the charge by
pressing the Select button until the
Battery % LED lights. When the battery is
fully charged, disconnect the accessory
cable from the Portable Power, then from
the lighter socket of the vehicle.
NOTE: Completely disconnect the charger
cable when the engine is not running.

USING THE PORTABLE POWER

DIGITAL DISPLAY
To check the jump starters internal battery
status, push the Select button. The display
will show the percent of charge of the
internal battery.
When connected to the vehicle with the Jump
Start ON/OFF switch in the OFF position, the
display shows the vehicles battery voltage.
When connected and in the ON position, the
display shows the equalized voltage between
the vehicles battery and internal battery.
JUMP STARTING A VEHICLE
IMPORTANT: Using the Jump Start feature
without a battery installed in the vehicle will
damage the vehicles electrical system.
1. Turn the ignition OFF.
2. Lay the DC cables away from any
fan blades, belts, pulleys and other
moving parts.
3. For a negative-ground vehicle (as in most
vehicles), connect the Portable Powers
POSITIVE (RED) clamp to the POSITIVE
(POS, P, +) battery post. Next, connect
the NEGATIVE (BLACK) clamp to the
vehicle chassis or engine block, away
from the battery.
4. For a positive-ground vehicle, connect the
Portable Powers NEGATIVE (BLACK)
clamp to the NEGATIVE (NEG, N, -)
battery post. Next, connect the POSITIVE
(RED) clamp to the vehicle chassis or
engine block away from the battery.
IMPORTANT: If you have connected the
clamps backwards, an audio alarm will
sound. DO NOT turn the ON/OFF switch to
the ON position. This could cause serious
damage to the jump starter or the vehicle.
Reverse the connections and the audio
alarm will stop.
5. Turn the switch to the ON position.
6. Crank the engine for no more than
8 seconds. If the engine does not start,
wait 2 minutes before cranking again.
7. After the engine starts, turn the switch to
the OFF position and remove the Portable
Power from the battery.
8. Charge the Portable Power.
USING THE WORK/EMERGENCY LIGHT
1. Position the jump starter on a flat, stable
surface near the intended work area.
2. Ensure that the battery clamps are securely
clipped on the storage holders.
3. Press the light switch once.The jump
starter light will turn on and illuminate
your work area.

4. Press the light switch again. The light

will flash.
5. When finished, press the light switch again,
to turn off the light.
6. Charge the jump starter as soon as
possible after using the work light.
NOTE: The work/emergency light will
automatically shut off after 24 hours.
POWERING A 12V DC DEVICE
The Portable Power is a power source for all
12V DC accessories that are equipped with a
12V accessory plug. Use it for power outages
and on fishing or camping trips. Estimated
usage time is listed in the following chart.
NOTE: Do not power a 12V device with the
Portable Power while charging the internal
battery.
NOTE: Make sure the device to be powered
is OFF before inserting the 12V DC accessory
plug into the 12V DC accessory outlet.
1. Ensure that the battery clamps are
securely clipped on the storage holders.
2. Open the protective cover of one of the
two DC power outlets on the front of the
jump starter.
3. Plug the 12V DC device into the DC power
outlet, and turn the 12V DC device on
(if required).
CAUTION: Do not use the Portable Power
to run appliances that draw more than
15A DC.
NOTE: Extended operation of a 12V DC
device may result in excessive battery drain.
Recharge the Portable Power immediately
after unplugging the 12V DC device.

USING THE USB PORT

The USB port provides up to 2.1A at 5V DC.
1. Ensure that the battery clamps are
securely clipped on the storage holders.
2. Plug the device into one of the two USB
ports on the front panel.
3. Press the USB port ON/OFF button.
4. Turn on the USB device.
5. When you are finished using the USB port,
press the button, to turn off.
6. Charge the jump starter as soon as
possible after using the USB port.
NOTE: To protect your electronic devices,
the USB will automatically shut off when the
internal batterys charge is low.
USING THE AIR COMPRESSOR
WARNING. Read the instructions of the
product being inflated before using the
compressor. Avoid overinflation; do not
exceed the manufacturers recommended
pressures. Do not leave the air compressor
unattended during use.
1. Remove the air compressor hose from the
storage compartment in the back of the
jump starter.
2. Connect the adapter to the valve stem
and close the thumb latch. If necessary,
use one of the additional adapters.
3. Press the Select button, and choose
Compressor.
4. To select the desired PSI, press
then press ON/OFF.
5. When the desired pressure is reached,
the compressor will turn off. Open the
thumb latch and remove the connector
from the valve stem.
6. Do not run for more than 10 minutes at a
time. Allow the jump starter to cool down
for 10 minutes before using again.
7. Wrap the compressor hose around the
cleats when it is not being used.
8. Allow unit to cool.
9. Recharge the unit before storing.
NOTE: To prevent overheating, the
compressor has built-in thermal protection
that will turn the compressor off before it
overheats. If the compressor shuts off, wait
a few minutes and it will automatically
restart when the compressor cools.
NOTE: The air compressor is rated for
100 PSI maximum.

gauge to ensure the proper pressure has been reached.

USING THE INVERTER

It is important to know the continuous wattage
of the device you plan to use with the inverter.
The Portable Power must be used with
devices drawing 400 watts or less. If the
wattage is not marked on the device, use
only devices that draw less than 3.3 amps of
AC current.
Devices like TVs, fans or electric motors
require additional power to start (commonly
known as the starting or peak power). The
Portable Power can supply a momentary
surge in wattage; however even devices
rated less than the maximum 400 watts can
exceed the inverters surge capability and
cause an automatic overload shutdown.
Do not use the inverter with a product that
draws a higher wattage than the inverter can
provide, as this may cause damage to the
inverter and the product.
Make sure the device you are using is
compatible with a modified sine wave inverter.
CAUTION: Always run a test to establish
whether the inverter will operate a particular
piece of equipment or device.
In the event of a power overload, the inverter
is designed to automatically shut down. This
safety feature prevents damaging the
inverter while testing devices and equipment
with the 400-watt range.
If powering more than one device, start one
device at a time to avoid a power surge
and/or inverter overload. The surge load of
each device should not exceed the inverters
Continuous Operation wattage rate.
IMPORTANT: If you are using the power
inverter to operate any type of battery
charger, monitor the temperature of the
battery charger for about 10 minutes. If
the battery charger becomes abnormally
warm, disconnect it from the inverter
immediately.
You can use an extension cord from the
inverter to the device without significantly
decreasing the power being generated by
the inverter. For best operating results, the
extension cord should be 16 AWG (1.31 mm2)
or larger and no longer than 50 feet.

IMPORTANT: This inverter uses a modified

sine waveform, which is not quite the same
as power company electricity. For the
following devices, we strongly recommend
that you use caution and check the devices
manual to make sure it is compatible with
modified sine waveform.

Using the inverter with any of these
devices may cause the device to run
warmer or overheat.

POWERING A 110V AC DEVICE

1. Ensure the battery clips are securely on
the storage holders.
2. Open the protective cover of the AC
power outlet on the front panel of the
Portable Power.
3. Make sure the 110V AC device to be
operated is turned OFF.
4. Plug the 110V AC device into the AC
power outlet and press the Select button,
to choose AC Inverter.
5. Turn the device on.
6. Charge the Instant Power as soon as
possible after each use.
RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK.
Incorrect operation of your inverter may
result in damage and personal injury. The
inverter output is 110V AC and can shock
or electrocute the same as any ordinary
household AC wall outlet.
NOTE: The maximum continuous load is
400 watts. Do not use the inverter with a
product that draws more than 400 watts, as
this may cause damage to the inverter and
the product. AN

MAINTENANCE AND CARE

Clean the clamps and the case each time
you are finished using it.
Recharge the unit once a month when not
in use.

Store clamps on their support posts, to

ensure they do not come into contact with
any metallic surface.
Never completely discharge the internal
battery.

COMPROBACIN DEL NIVEL DE CARGA
DE LA BATERA INTERNA
Para comprobar el estado de carga de la
batera interna, pulse el botn Select hasta
que la Battery % LED luces. La pantalla
digital mostrar por ciento de la carga de la
batera. Cargue la batera interna si la
pantalla indica que es menos de 100%.
NOTA: El por ciento de carga de la batera
interna es ms precisa cuando el motor de
arranque salto ha sido desconectado de
todos los dispositivos y las fuentes de carga
para un par de horas.
LA CARGA DE LA BATERA INTERNA
Para cargar la batera interna de la energa
porttil, utilice un cable de extensin (no
incluido).
NOTA: Al utilizar una extensin inadecuada,
se corre el riesgo de ocasionar un incendio
o descargas elctricas.
1. Para cargar, dar la vuelta al conector
de CA en la parte posterior de la unidad
hacia ABAJO y conecte un AWG 18 o un
cable de extensin.
2. Conecte el cable de extensin en un
tomacorriente elctrico de 120 VCA.

3. Mientras que la energa porttil se est

cargando, los guiones en movimiento

CMO CARGAR LA BATERA INTERNA
CON EL VEHCULO EN MARCHA
Tambin puede cargar la batera interna

IMPORTANTE: NO CARGAR LA BATERA
INTERNA POR MS DE 30 MINUTOS, NI

1. Asegrese de que el vehculo est en
marcha.
2. Inserte un extremo del cable auxiliar en la
toma de corriente de 12 V CC.
3. Inserte el otro extremo del cable auxiliar

(encendedor).

NOTA: La luz LED Battery % no opera

durante este mtodo de carga. Al utilizar
este mtodo para cargar la batera, se
anula el modo de mantenimiento y la
batera podra sobrecargarse.
4. Para supervisar el progreso de la carga,
presione el botn Select hasta que
la Battery % LED luces. Cuando la

batera esta completamente cargada,

primero desconecte el cable auxiliar de
la energa porttil y luego, de la toma del
encendedor del vehculo.
NOTA: Desconectar completamente el
cable del cargador cuando el motor no est
funcionando.

CMO UTILIZAR LA ENERGA PORTTIL

PANTALLA DIGITAL
Para comprobar el estado de la batera
interna de la energa porttil, pulse el botn
Select. La pantalla muestra el porcentaje
de carga de la batera interna.
Cuando se conecta al vehculo con el Jump
Start interruptor en la posicin ON / OFF, la
pantalla muestra el voltaje de la batera del
vehculo. Cuando se conecta y en la
posicin ON, la pantalla muestra el voltaje
igualado entre la batera del vehculo y la
batera interna.
PARA ARRANCAR EL MOTOR
DEL VEHCULO
IMPORTANTE: Utilizacin de la funcin
arranque del motor sin una batera instalada
en el vehculo daar el sistema elctrico
del vehculo.
1. APAGUE el motor.
2. Ponga los cables de CD lejos de las
aspas del ventilador, bandas, poleas u
otras partes mviles.
3. En los vehculos con carga negativa
a tierra (como en la mayora de los
vehculos), conecte la pinza con el polo
POSITIVO (ROJO) de la energa porttil
al borne POSITIVO (POS, P, +) de la
batera. A continuacin, conecte la pinza
con el polo NEGATIVO (NEGRO) al
chasis del vehculo o al bloque del motor,
lejos de la batera.
4. En los vehculos con carga positiva a tierra,
conecte la pinza con el polo NEGATIVO
(NEGRO) de la energa porttil al borne
NEGATIVO (NEG, N, -) de la batera. A
continuacin, conecte la pinza con el polo
POSITIVO (ROJO) al chasis del vehculo o
al bloque del motor, lejos de la batera.
IMPORTANTE: Si ha conectado las pinzas
hacia atrs, una alarma acstica sonar.
NO encienda el interruptor On / Off a la
posicin ON. Esto podra causar graves
daos al motor de arranque salto o el
vehculo. Invierta las conexiones y la alarma
de audio se detendr.
5. Coloque el interruptor en la posicin de
Encendido (ON).

6. Accione el encendido del motor durante

no ms de 8 segundos. Si el motor no
enciende, espere 2 minutos antes de
arrancar de nuevo.
7. Una vez que haya arrancado el motor,
coloque el interruptor en la posicin
de Apagado (OFF) y retire la energa
porttil de la batera.
8. Cargue la energa porttil.
CMO UTILIZAR LA LUZ DE TRABAJO /
EMERGENCIA
1. Coloque la energa porttil sobre una
superficie plana cerca del rea de trabajo.
2. Asegrese que las pinzas estn fijas en el
compartimiento.
3. Pulse el interruptor de la luz una vez. La
luz del arrancador encender e iluminar
su rea de trabajo.
4. Pulse el interruptor de la luz de nuevo.
La luz parpadear.
5. Cuando haya terminado, pulse el
interruptor de la luz de nuevo, para
apagar la luz.
6. Recargar la energa porttil tan pronto sea
posible, despus de usar la luz.
NOTA: La luz de trabajo / emergencia
se apagar automticamente despus de
24 horas.
PARA HACER FUNCIONAR UN APARATO
DE 12V DE CD:
La energa porttil es una fuente de poder
para cualquier accesorio de 12V de
corriente directa que estn equipados con
enchufe de 12V. Utilcelo durante
apagones, pesca o das de campo.
NOTA: no encienda un dispositivo de 12 V
mientras se est cargando la batera interna
dela energa porttil.
1. Asegrese que las pinzas estn fijas en el
compartimiento.
2. Abrir la cubierta protectora de una de las
dos salidas de alimentacin de CC en la
parte frontal de la energa porttil.
3. Conecte el aparato de 12V de CD en la
salida de corriente de la fuente de poder
y encindalo (si requiere).

PRECAUCIN: no utilice la energa porttil en

aparatos que consuman ms de 15 A de CC.
NOTA: si hace funcionar un dispositivo de
12 V CC durante mucho tiempo con la
energa porttil, la batera se agotar por
completo. Recargue la energa porttil
inmediatamente despus de desconectar
los dispositivos de 12 V CC.

operacin de nuevo despus de enfriarse.

para 100 PSI mximo.

EL USO DE PUERTO USB

El puerto USB provee poco ms de 2,1A por
5V de CD.
1. Asegrese que las pinzas estn fijas en el
compartimiento.
2. Conecte el dispositivo a uno de los dos
puertos USB en el panel frontal.
3. Presione el puerto USB botn ON / OFF.
4. Encienda el dispositivo USB.
5. Cuando haya terminado de utilizar el
puerto USB, pulse el botn para apagar.
6. Recargar la energa porttil tan pronto sea
posible, despus de usar el puerto USB.
NOTA: Para proteger sus dispositivos

USO DEL COMPRESOR DE AIRE
ADVERTENCIA. Antes de usar el

inflar. Evite sobre inflar, no exceda la presin

1. Retire la manguera del compresor de aire

ANTES DE USAR EL INVERSOR

Instrucciones importantes de seguridad:

8. No use el inversor cerca del

USO DEL INVERSOR
Es de suma importancia saber la carga
continua en vatios del aparato que desea
usar con el inversor. La energa porttil debe
ser usada con aparatos que operados en
400 vatios o menos. Si los vatios no estn
marcados en el aparato use slo aparatos
que usen menos de 3,3 amperes de
Corriente Alterna CA.
Aparatos como televisiones, ventiladores o
motores elctricos requieren energa adicional
para encender (comnmente conocido como
arranque o mxima energa). La energa
porttil podra suplementar u operar en vatios;
de cualquier forma an los aparatos
clasificados por debajo de los 400 vatios
pueden exceder de la capacidad del inversor
y lo apaga automticamente por sobrecarga.
No use el inversor con un producto que
absorbe ms vatios de los que el inversor
puede proveer, esto podra daar el
inversor y el producto.
Asegrese que el aparato que sea usado
sea compatible con las ondas senoidales
del inversor.
ATENCIN: Realice siempre una prueba
para asegurar que el inversor opere un
equipo o un aparato.

la temperatura del cargador de bateras
por aproximadamente 10 minutos.
Si el cargador de bateras se pone
anormalmente caliente, desconctelo
del Inversor inmediatamente.
Usted puede utilizar una extensin del
inversor al aparato sin disminuir la carga
generada por el inversor. Para mejores

resultados de operacin, el cable de

extensin debe ser de 16 AWG (1,31 mm2)
o de ms intensidad pero, que no exeda de
50 pies (15 metros).
IMPORTANTE: Este inversor utiliza una
forma de onda, que no es exactamente lo
mismo que acompaada de energa
