classified and illustrated according to different function modules.
Each function module corresponds to one chapter and commands
in each chapter are listed in form of second-level directory and in
the sequence of from letter a to letter z.
To search a command information, perform the following steps:
1. Search corresponding command in ZXR10 8900 Series
(V2.8.02.C) 10G Routing Switch Command Reference (Index);
2. Find the details of this command in corresponding volume according to obtained volume information and chapter information related to this command.
Description of Man-Machine
Commands
Each MML command is described by the following items:
Function
It describes the function implemented by this command.
Command Modes
It describes the mode in which this command can be executed.
Command format
It describes the complete format of this command. If no format is available, list it.
Parameter Description
It describes parameters in this command in the form and prescribes the range and default value. If different products have
different parameter ranges or default values, an additional
form is used for description.
Default Value
The default value is available in the case that this command is
not set. The default parameter value is not described here for
value selection. Additional description shall be given if different
products have different default values.
Instructions
It firstly describes the platform version information about this
command. For example, The platform version X.X.XX or later
supports this command indicates this command is provided
from platform version X.X.XX. This command is provided from
platform version 4.6.01 by default.
After these information, it describes the use method and precautions of this command.
Example
It takes an example to introduce how to use this command.
Related Commands
It lists commands related to this command.
History Command
It describes history version information related to this command if a command is changed after version upgrade.
Note:
Do not describe the command history if this entry does not exist.
Auxiliary Function
Command help function of ZXR10 devices has the following features:
1. By entering a question mark (?) following DOS prompt in any
command mode, a list of available commands in this command
mode are displayed. With the context-sensitive help function,
the keywords and parameter list of any commands can be displayed.
Input the question mark following a character or a character string, a list of commands or keywords beginning with
this character or character string is displayed. Note that
there is no space between the character (string) and the
question mark.
Press Tab key following the character string. If the command or keyword beginning with this character string is
unique, complement the command or keyword and attach
a space to the end. Note that there is no space between
the character string and the Tab key.
Input a question mark (?) following the command, keyword or parameter. The next keyword or parameter to be
entered is listed, and also a brief description is given. A
space shall be entered before the question mark.
Function
Use show history command in any mode, and the latest several commands in this mode will be listed.

Instructions
Tip:
When a neighbor is created by using the negibor active command
under the IPv4 unicast address family, the neighbor will inherit
previous BGP configuration. The change of the BGP configuration
after the creation of the neighbor does not affect the neighbor.
Example
Command Modes
Syntax
Use this command to set the local preference of the routes advertised by the BGP. Return to the default setting with the no form of
this command.
Router configuration
bgp default local-preference <value>
no bgp default local-preference

Syntax
Description
<value>
Instructions
When there are routes advertised to the peers including IBGP peers
and external peers in the confederation, this command can be used
to set the local preference of the routes. And the local preference
affects the peers selection of the routes. If advertised routes are
obtained by other peer and it has already had a local preference,
this value will not cover the existing value.

Syntax
Use this command to control the BGPs filtering of the route target
attribute. Remove the filtering of the attribute with the no form
of this command.
Router configuration
bgp default route-target filter
no bgp default route-target filter
Defaults
Instruction
The extension BGP supports the application of MPLS-VPN . Generally, vpnv4 routes should match the route-target attribute, but the
filtering of route-target attribute needs closing for the applications
of route reflector, or EBGP.

Defaults
The path attribute with its own autonomous system number is not
supported by default.
Instructions
To prevent the loopback of BGP routes, in general, the path attribute is used to record crossed autonomous systems. When the
path attribute has its own autonomous system number, it indicates
loopback appears and this route should be invalid.
However, as the application of the network becomes more and
more complex, especially the application of HUB-SPOKE model of
MPLS-VPN, it may appears that some autonomous system must
be crossed to meet the users requirement.
Example
neighbor as-override

Command Modes

Use this command to replace the AS number of each directly connected CE device in the whole autonomous system path with the

Instructions
<ipv4-address>
<ipv6-address>
<peer-group-name>
Since the quantity of AS number is limited, the private AS number can be used to divide a large AS into multiple areas connected by EBGP. The private autonomous system will be removed when the area accesses the Internet. In this way, the
inside area is transparent for the Internet.
Tip:
When a confederation is configured, since the peers in the confederation are identified with private autonomous system, it may
cause the route loopback if the private AS is removed. As a result,
this command is ineffective in EBGP peers inside the confederation.

neighbor shut-down
Purpose
Command Modes
Syntax
Syntax
Description
Defaults
<ipv4-address>
<ipv6-address>
<peer-group-name>
Instructions
Many configuration commands of neighbor attribute may cause inconsistency of the route handlings or neighbor reset. To minimize
the network oscillation, it is recommended to make the neighbor
enter the management shut-down status before the configuration
is completed.
Example
neighbor soft-reconfiguration
Purpose
Command Modes
Syntax
Syntax
Description
Defaults
<ipv4-address>
<ipv6-address>
<peer-group-name>
45
Instructions
When the local BGP policy is adjusted, the routes that were denied
before may be enabled now. If this command is not configured,
the neighbor must retransmit routes and it must be reset. After
the use of this command, the routes that are denied before can be
enabled again without resetting the neighbor.
However, the use of this command may cause that local router
stores large number of denied routes and this will use plenty of
memory. As a result, it is recommended to use the command
under the guide of network expert.
If the neighbor supports route refreshing capability, this command
is unnecessary. Even though this command is configured, it equals
to the case in which there is no such configuration.

not match at least one match option (this option is related with the
route-map command) will be ignored. That is to say, routes are
not advertised to the output route map, and input route map does
not accept routes. If only some data is expected to be modified,
the second route map area must be configured with explicit match.

Redistributing route
Use the route-map command in global configuration mode
and the match and set commands in route map configuration
mode to define the conditions for redistributing routes from one
routing protocol to another. Each route-map command has a
series of associated match and set commands. The match
command specifies the match indices, that is, the condition to
allow the redistribution. The set command specifies the preserved operation, that is, it conducts the specific redistribution
when the match indices specified by the match command are
met.
Policy route
Use the route-map command in global configuration mode
and the match and set commands to make packets corresponding to this match condition forwarded along the specified
path.
Example
In this example, the routes whose address is specified by the access list 5 or 80 satisfy the match condition.
