Queens for the King

April 2016 Newsletter

Springing into Action

With God's guidance, we are springing into action in
April here in South Africa. The kids club on Thursdays
after school is growing in numbers. We now can teach
in the school as well. We got 3 new patients this month
to disciple on house visits. The interns are leading Bible
lessons now. Our Sweetwaters bible students are
sharing the gospel on home visits & at kids club too.
The first life group was launched last week in
Sweetwaters. We are praying a Baptist church will grow
out of it. We are excited about all the doors the Lord is
opening for our family to be able to share Jesus with
the people. AND we can't wait for Elizabeth to visit next
month so our family pictures are complete with

her smiling face!

Holding the line

Thomas continues to disciple kids, teens, and adults with God's Word as he
teaches in the community each week. God continues to add in number to the SW
teen bible study but what is more exciting is to see those young adults now come
share the gospel with us on home visits in Shiyas. Pray for him as he needs the
Holy Spirits guidance with how to best engage the older students at
Sibongumbomvu School during the kid club time.

Taking the church to the

school
We are on the church plant team at Hilton
Baptist. As a result, the church now gets to
take our Sunday school classes "on the
road" to the local community school,
Sibongumbomvu. I am now teaching the
Science lesson for grade 6 every Tuesday. I
got the privilege to give my testimony to 24
kids last week and tell them all about how
Jesus saved me. Most of these kids are
unchurched so I am using the Jesus story
book Bible to explain who is God and how
Jesus came to save them. We will march
through it from Genesis to Revelations.
Please pray the seeds we are planting in
grade 6 will find soft ground and kids will
come to know Him.

Artists of Grade 6
After the Bible story and Science
lesson, the children then do an
art lesson or craft activity about
what they learned during the
Bible story. This helps reinforce
what they heard we pray. We
hope they will take this home
and share the Bible story with
their families. Two of the ladies
in my ladies Bible study prepare
the craft while I do the teaching.
Don't we have some talented
artists?

See One, Do One, Teach One...

The interns have watched us teach the patients. Now it is their turn. Each
week one intern teaches the Bible story to the people of Shiyas. The other
intern then gives her personal testimony. They are doing a great job! Last
week, Thomas's team had 6 people pray to receive Christ. Pray for Thomas
as he follows up with those 6 to make sure they understand fully what it
means to be a follower of Christ and for my team's 3 new patients to grow
in Jesus as they come to know him.

Kid's Club Story

Time
Weekly from 1-2pm, our church
plant team is throwing a Kid's
Club at Sibongumbomvu School.
It's like a vacation bible club after
school. We play games with the
kids then share a bible story.
Pictured here is Zama from our
SW bible study sharing alongside
our interns the story of Jesus
feeding the 5000 to these mostly
unchurched 5-6 yr. olds. We
asked them "Who is Jesus?" 1
boy said "the Mother Mary?" We
are realizing these children have
no idea who Jesus is so pray for
us as we share the gospel with
them for the first time.

HURRY! SHESHA!
Before we do the Bible story at kids club, we play all sorts of games with the children at the
school. They love the parachute game but this relay race is always a hit! We cheer on the kids in
our best Zulu saying "HURRY OR SHESHA"!

The College Girl

Elizabeth is in her final few
weeks at Lee. Last week she
received the Hick's Math
Scholarship in front of the
whole student body. Boy was
she nervous she said. She also
attended the award
dinner thrown by the dean
recognizing all the students
with great GPA's. Please pray
for her remaining research
paper assignments and her
final exams as she tries to
finish strong. Also pray for
traveling mercies as she
comes to visit us in SA for the
summer in mid-May.
EXCITED!!!

Last but not Least...

The Jacob scoop is he has climbed this Mountain (Lion's head) in case you
didn't already know. He is doing well in school and loving rugby as
always. He enjoys his new position called flanker. When he isn't playing
sports or studying, he enjoys a delicious Krispy Kreme if he can find
anyone who has been to Joburg recently to bring him one!
