Dear Buffalo Bob...I met with Ray Williams on Tuesday, April 26, to discuss
goals of the HHS Alumni Foundation and in addition to giving some financial support to the Hicksville
Vietnam Veterans Era Memorial, we are also supporting the HHS robotics team efforts. This student
group gets no funding from the district and has to raise all its funds by parent support and student fund
raising activities. This attached video shows this student team competing at Hofstra University recently
and eventually losing by just one point from going to a national competition. One of the goals of the
foundation is to support student groups and activities that encourage the students to believe in
themselves and work toward personal success and fulfilling adult careers after graduation. It's a great
video and it features our Hicksville High. Sincerely...John Maniec 1964

A note to Buffalo Bob from Kathy McDonald Corey...do you have any contact info on Wilma McDouall
from 1960? Thanks...Kathy McDonald Corey 1960
A note back to Kathy from the Buff...I tried several times to find her to no avail. Back in the day, she
was dating Billy Cook. Cook and me, we were part of a crowd that included Rod Clements, Mike
Goldsmith, Rob McCotter and Nick Quattrone. Anyhow, one day we were all gathered at my house on
Berry Lane and I took a picture of Wilma posing on a picnic table in my backyard. I wanted to send it to
Wilma. Think it was taken in 1958. If anyone amongst the Hicksvillites knows where Wilma resides or
have and email address or phone number, please send a note to bufbob@juno.com Thanks...love yah da

Come on ladies, the challenge is on! If you have a man in your life who helps bring balance to your
world, who isn't perfect but he's perfect for you, who works hard and would do anything for you, who
makes you laugh but drives you crazy, who is your best friend and sometimes your only friend, who you
want to grow old with who you are thankful for and truly adore, let him have a moment and put this as
your status. (Copy paste this status and add a picture!)Rosa Szendy Patterson 1961Heres mine

Hi BobThis is overdue. I was very busy with some important HOA issues in
early March as an HOA neighborhood chair in my Florida community and, along with Sharon, my bride
of 48 1/2 years, still on the mend, missed reading the March issue. In addition to the E-Blast you put out
soliciting donations for the Vietnam Era Memorial, your write up with pictures in the March issue was
superb! Thanks so much for doing that! Also, the History of Hicksville that you put together was very
well done and revealed a lot I never knew about our great home town! You're amazing and I have great
respect for all you do! Best regardsJoe Carfora 1962
Dear Classmates
I just finished posting a video to You Tube that I've been working on for almost six weeks. The video is
about the reunions held for the class of 1977, the Thirty Year in 2007 and the Thirty-Five year in 2012.
There is more included that is not related to the reunions. Hope the reunion in 2017 is as much a success
as previous reunions. Please send the below hyperlink to your mailing list because I don't have a
complete listing for the entire class and many from the class may not get the message. I would like for
many to view this project.
Thanks
love yah

Hi Marilyn...I don't remember you but since you are about seven years younger than
me that is not surprising. But if your Dad's name was also Austin (same as your brother), then I think my
Dad knew him from the tennis club in Tampa, when my parents retired there. Nice to hear from you.

Hi Class of 1956! Hope you're all well and happy. Thought you might enjoy seeing a commercial I did
recently for Vita Coconut Water. It's called, "My First Time," and it's very funny. I shot it with one
of my "film husbands" who I've worked with as a senior couple/grandma/grandpa for many years.
If you have time in your busy day, please check it out. Hope you enjoy it. Here's the link:

Hi Arthur...Good to hear from you. I have updated your email address, as you
requested. The last time I played chess was more than 50 years ago on Arcadia Lane in Hicksville. As I
recall, you beat me pretty handily then. Obviously, I haven't gotten any better, but I am sure you have.
Hope all is well with you. Best...Henry
Flashback
Any of our classmates ever visit Fair View Farm in Medusa, NY???
In The News
There is an old Hotel/Pub in Marble Arch, London, which used to have a gallows adjacent to it.
Prisoners were taken to the gallows (after a fair trial of course) to be hanged.
The horse-drawn dray, carting the prisoner, was accompanied by an armed guard, who would stop the
dray outside the pub and ask the prisoner if he would like ''ONE LAST DRINK''.
If he said YES, it was referred to as ONE FOR THE ROAD.
If he declined, that prisoner was ON THE WAGON.
So there you go.. More bleeding history. They used to use urine to tan animal skins, so families used to
all pee in a pot and then once a day it was taken and sold to the tannery. If you had to do this to survive
you were "piss poor", but worse than that were the really poor folk, who couldnt even afford to buy a
pot, they "Didn't have a pot to piss in" and were the lowest of the low.
The next time you are washing your hands and complain because the water temperature isn't just how
you like it, think about how things used to beArt Lembke
Military News
Hi BobI was very touched by the Military News article contributed anonymously by
one of our Vietnam Veterans. It truly shows what many of these soldiers went through and some are still going
through. I'm so glad to hear he has a wonderful family and a good local support group in Hicksville enabling him
to push on.

nothing. I'm going to send a note to your classmates and see if they have an answer. love yah buffalo bob
Dear Class of 1976...Have had several classmates ask about a Forty Year Reunion???
Are there plans to get something going??? Please respond with a yes or no to me. Thanks...Buffalo
Bob Casale 1961
Hi Bob...I was recently in New York for my best friend and fellow classmate's
death (Bill Dow). Several classmates came to the funeral and we discussed a possible reunion but no one
has stepped up. I live in Virginia and it would be difficult for me to head it up. Thanks...John
Ohrnberger 1976
So sorry for your loss. Yes, it's hard to live out of the New York area and do a reunion. I was involved
with many reunions over the years, both high school and navy reunions, and logistics are a real problem.
However, you could send out feelers to see if there are others who are interested in getting together. I
have not missed a reunion for my class of 1961. I was, also, on the reunion committee for several of
those get togethers. Take the initiative and see if anyone is really interested. I can send you the mailing
list I have for your class. What is your prerogative??? Buffalo bob
BobIt would be a daunting task for me to reach out to all those classmates anyway. Normally I would
try to help set up a reunion however I am really tied up. I work full time still in Law Enforcementover
35 years. I am involved with the Fraternal Order of Police as lodge President and as State Vice
President. I am actually hosting a State FOP week long conference in August so you can understand I am
a bit tied up. Thank YouJohn
I understand completely. It's a large task that takes a long time and even starting now, it would be a bust.
I heard back from one more about not knowing about any reunion. There just isn't any interest. Stay well
and good luck with tasksRegardsBuffalo Bob
I've asked the question on Facebook, but so far no reply. Perhaps we'll just start
planning one for September? IDKCarl Calma
