COURSE DESCRIPTION
Managers have always used information to perform their tasks and make decisions, so the
subject of management information is not new. What is new is the ease and speed with
which accurate and current information can be stored, obtained, and communicated
throughout business organizations. In todays business world, corporate managers can
make informed and timely decisions using innovative technology and systems. The
innovation that makes all this happen is called Management Information Systems.
The purpose of this course is to expose students to MIS concepts, impart knowledge
regarding business applications of MIS, and familiarize them with real-life issues in
developing and implementing management information systems. This course has been
designed to be a blend of lectures and real-life cases.
